The only reason the post office is still around is because of Amazon. Otherwise they have nothing to offer. Always late delivering packages and loosing packages. Damaging packages and items. Almost every post office you go into on long island they have an attitude. Acting like there the FBI or something. Treats the average citizen like cattle. There lucky Amazon came around.

I went to this post office after going to the post office on route 107 in Massapequa because I wanted a different looking stamp than the butterfly stamps. The 107 office is my main office and I love them. I was sending out a standard sized 4x6 invitation with a light wood piece in it. The route 107 post office said it would be .71 cents to mail out, but again I was looking for more of a selection on stamps. So I went to this office and I get an India woman wearing a hijab (not being racist or prejudice just simply identifying the woman that was helping me by her looks since I don’t know her name, so maybe a manager can talk to her). She tried to tell me the same evenvelop was considered a parcel and would be $3.00 to send out. I had 50 invitations so that was ridiculous and more than my invitation even costs. I tell her to explain why and she says “your envelope is non-machinable. The machines will not accept it because it won’t bend and considered a parcel due to the hard piece, so it must go under the parcel charges.” I told her what the route 107 post office said and she said they were wrong. So I go back to route 107 post office and take 10 invitations and use the .71 cent butterfly NON MACHINABLE STAMP which is literally just a .21 cent surcharge for having a non-bendable envelope which would have been a .50 cent envelope without the wood piece in it. They all got sent out to their destinations. None of them came back to me. Moral of my story, I will never go back to that post office. They try to rip you off or that woman was trying to rip me off. A manager needs to talk to her persoanlly and educate their entire staff on pricing. They call this office the main home office for the post offices in the area. Go to the route 107 post office. They’re clearly better educated in policy/pricing and definitely friendlier.

Just went to the Massapequa Post Office to renew our Passports. I can not believe how uninformed, unknowledgeable, complacent, careless, poor attitudes the employees possess. You could put all their brains together and still would not add up to a double digit IQ. They are seriously borderline mentally challenged. Ugh.
