First it's very small and very easy to drive past if you're not certain where it is. They have no self serve kiosk so you're at the mercy of the counter being open. As far as that goes, it say as they close from 1 PM - 2 PM but I've been there at 12:30 and they'll already be closed or 2:30 and they'll still be closed. Several times I haven't been able to send out a package because they were closed and I wasn't able to come back. I'd add more stars if they were consistently open when they were supposed to be.

I have been a hotel manager in Duncan for 8 years. I currently manage 2 hotels in Duncan and previously managed a different one. We have consistently had issues with the mail service. The carrier has placed heavy catalogs on the door of our mail box when it wouldn't fit inside the box and continually has refused to deliver our mail if a vehicle is parked in front of the box. Recently, we had our front drive resurfaced as part of a renovation, which left our mailbox inaccessible by car for 2 days. As a result the mail carrier stopped delivering our mail. Today when I called, I was told that our drive was still taped off, despite the fact that it has been clear for the past 6 days. I know that actually getting out of the vehicle and walking a few steps is difficult, but when you are delivering packages to businesses, which are a large number of this carrier's "customers" there are times when it is necessary. As a hotel, there are going to be times when, unfortunately, people pull up and park in front of our mail box. There are also times we will have mail delivered that is too big to fit in the box and TOO HEAVY to be left on the door. Also, at least once every few years, we need to resurface our drive to maintain our property. I don't think it is too much to expect that our mail carrier take the few extra steps necessary to provide the service we are paying for.

This post office is much too small, with not enough facilities or staff to handle the growing town of Duncan, SC. The number of residents in Duncan, SC have increased dramatically over the years, but unfortunately this post office has not been updated. The staff is doing the best they can considering the amount of residents they serve. Hopefully one day, this post office will be given some funding to increase their services, facility, and staff.

This is the WORST PostOffice I have EVER encountered with the rudest postal delivery people. Will deliver a package to my house but put the same day delivery in the mailbox. Put up a new mailbox 2 years ago and it is almost at the point of falling off because the rural deliverer shoves larger packages inside. Constantly delivers mail to my mailbox from people who do not live at my home any more...and the deliverer has been notified several times. I go to the Reidville PO when I need anything. The people there are friendly and nice.

I can't believe the nasty things people are writing about this PO. I am not a fan of the USPS in general but the Duncan Office is superlative. I receive Priority Express mail regularly and they have bent over backward and made every accommodation possible to help me. To the point I felt bad about it. I know everyone there on a first name basis, they know me and it's only b/c they were so competent and helpful. These critical reviews can't possibly be about the current staff of the ANYONE that's been there the last three years.
