Much easier than main hospital. Unfortunately now have to go to both. Freindly check in and out staff and nurses
I saw Dr. Erin Sternhagen. Horrible provider who is never there, forcing me to see a different privide every time I came in. I was in extreme pain, was given the third degree and all they doubted that my symptoms were real. They did nothing for the continuous pain and discouragement I was feeling from feeling unheard. They pumped me full of alternate medications, all of which had horrible and long lasting side effects rather than provide pain relief. I soon switched to another provider whom immediately sent me in for testing to find that I had an extremely serious genetic disease, symptoms being extreme pain that should be treated with hormones, pain medication, and continuous physical therapy. My new provider couldn't believe that Dr. Sterhagen and her associates left me with no testing and no pain relief. I contacted patient advocacy several times, only to be continuously told that they would "look into it". Nothing ever came of it and no one ever contacted me back. I am seriously considering suing them for negligence as they just shrugged my symptoms off and scolded me for requesting pain relief. They are more worried about their "image" and dealing with prescribing Controlled medication than having empathy for the patient and looking into the symptoms to find the root cause. I went through almost 2 years of excruciating pain until I finally terminated them as my provider. My new provider listens, provides adequate pain relief, and actually consults in ways to improve my treatment plan so that I can finally experience quality of life. Do not waste your time. I've seen every provider there and they are all sub par and should be ashamed of their patient approach. They are NOT patient centered in their approach, have extremely sub par bedside manner. Steer clear of this internal medicine clinic. Be an advocate for yourself. I hope to seek the highest level I can in their admin department to show record of their gross negligence and poor treatment. Shameful
Frustrated. I took a 2-hour trip with my mom to get her to her appointment. Although we showed up on time the receptionist told us her appointment was canceled because we didn't show up a half hour early. When I explained we just came from two hours away and couldn't they just see her anyway, the receptionist told me that they have patients from around the world and then asked if we want to reschedule. I said sure! But only if she can actually be seen next time! Apparently this happened to my mom numerous times when other relatives drove her out there. We have since begun having her appointments in our town at a local hospital. My mom only has nice things to say. She's a lot more forgiving.
I like the university so much that I use IRL and the university itself for all my doctors and all my appointments
Staff is always friendly and waiting rooms are always clean. Pharmacy on site and a coffee shop. What more could you ask for!
Had to get an xray, walk in walk out kind of thing. It was quick and out in about ten minutes. COVID measures made the walk longer and I struggled. For warning for disabled folks. Not on them really, I could have asked for help. When I got back to my e-trike, I was in desperate need of a break. So I laid down by my stuff. 2 cars stopped to check if I was alright it was nice of them. But decided to sit up so cars wouldn't stop *ˊᗜˋ*ᵗᑋᵃᐢᵏ ᵞᵒᵘ
My doctor, Dr. Slayman is very professional, polite, and understanding. If I have any concerns, I use MyChart to message him, or any other medical professional if I have any concerns/problems.
The worst internal medicine clinic I have ever experience. UIHC as a whole is horrible. Afyer.moving back to the Midwest I can say any other area has better providers. PCP is never there, wrong diagnosis, and after an Injury which resulted in broken bones even an MRI order for the WRONG body part! They do not listen, are barely compassionate and just keep referring you to other specialists when they don't feel like taking the time to figure out what is going on with you. After seeing several specials I was finally diagnosed with a genetic syndrome which should have and could have been diagnosed a LONG time ago. They also do nothing for pain management other than giv you very painful injections which don't work and cause.more pain. Absolute worst hospital I have ever been to. I would recommend anywhere else but UIHC for anything
I wouldn't recommend anyone to this hospital. I have seen GI specialists and Surgeon specialist here, neither were good experiences. This hospital just looks at you like dollar signs. No one actually helps, they just want to take your money and push you onto the next doctor and the next. Making you take the same tests over and over, just so they can say "I don't know what's wrong, let's send you to this person, they will do the SAME tests I did, charge you all over again and then we will tell you there is nothing we can do to help". I've seen Dr.Lee and Dr Rubb. Dont recommended either.
Just witnessed a nurse give two patients a $10 gas card because they had to wait longer than normal. Neither patient was upset, but she apologized profusely when she gave them the cards and told them that they would be going back soon. Excellent patient care.
