Our Benny was 14 1/2 yrs old. His end came quickly and on this Sunday night as a family we made the decision to help him to his new home. We arrived at Urgent Pet Care to a warm and friendly staff that made our goodbye with Benny the best it could be. I cannot speak highly enough of their professionalism and care for our Benny and our family in this goodbye.

Monday night I came home to find Belle and Leia had eaten 6 1oz boxes of Yogurt Raisins. For those of you who don't know raisins/grapes are extremely toxic for dogs. I called my vet and they told me to get the pups to an urgent care ASAP and told me which one was closest to my house. I rushed them out. Initially I was really impressed, they got my pups back right when we got there and gave them a medication to make them throw up. But that ended up being all that they did. We spoke to no doctor, just the receptionist who, when were standing there getting instructions for home, was really tripping over her words and reading right off the page. (Which I get, she's not a doctor, but why didn't a doctor talk to us? I get it, there are other dogs but you can't give us ANYTHING?) My dad had mentioned that it was odd that they didn't give the dogs activated charcoal so I gave them a call to ask why that didn't happen. They explained why, it seemed like a fine answer. That is it SEEMED like a good answer up until Steve figured out the dogs had digested some of the raisins. We got them into our vet, they did a thorough examination. They asked "did they give the dogs activated charcoal?" I told them no and they seemed very concerned/confused as to why that didn't happen. All activated charcoal does is absorb the toxins that may be sitting in the dog's stomach. So now, we are separated from our dogs for 48 hours while they get their kidneys flushed because of the gross negligence of this urgent care facility. I get no pleasure out of leaving negative reviews but I really feel like this place shouldn't have the responsibility dealing with pets who could be poisoned, dying, or injured. $360 later (for about MAYBE 40 minutes of work) I'm extremely dissatisfied and bothered by their clear lack of empathy and care.

I have visited Urgent Pet Care (UPC) several times over the past few years. As a breeder of hunting dogs, I am a frequent user of vet services ranging from preventative care to serious medical issues. Urgent Pet Care has been invaluable to me as a breeder and pet owner during off hours. The vets working at UPC (Dr. Starks and Westfall) are very professional and very competent. They have performed emergency C-sections and managed ruptured mastitis incidents over the years with great skill. These two vets are as good as any I have used over the many years of pet ownership and breeding.

After being referred here by my personal vet for after hours care, I'm glad to know I have this resource for my dogs and cats. Unfortunately I've been here a few times over the last three years, and each time my pets have received compassionate, knowledgeable care. I would absolutely recommend them to any one requiring emergency services for their pets.

This place is horrible, DONT GO THERE FOR ANY SMALL PET! Would give 0 stars if I could! She is very unprofessional no sympathy and bragged about the fact she put a cat down for free cause the family had no money. I have multiple ferrets, have been an owner of them for years but my 4yr old ferret was having breathing issues she told me if I basically had two options... put him to sleep for a fee of $100+ or get him an X-ray for $1,000+ and if I took him home I'd end up with a dead ferret. But I took him home because clearly she had no experience and to be all about money and a few days later he was playing, eating and drinking as normal!! Paid $80 for her to literally just put him in an oxygen cage a younger staff worker was super kind and friendly and talked with us BUT the rest of the staff and vet was a joke and clearly don't no anything about small pets, ferrets especially, front desk staff is a joke girl was very weird and didn't even know what she was talking about and almost charged us $100 extra!, vet has no sympathy for owners losing their furry friends or obviously wanting help. Instead she seems to be about money and always in a rush, and will get frustrated if you try to talk and ask questions. NEVER GO HERE!! If it's an emergency save yourself the hassle and tears and go to a more professional urgent pet care even if it's more you will be glad you did!! Wasted $80 just to have a traumatic, upsetting 30 minute visit just thankful my boy is okay, and will never recommend this clinic to my ferret groups or small pet groups ever. Them wanting to discuss my experience is bull, they don't care! They only care as I was open enough to leave now it went on here!! We saw Dr Doris Starks - rude, seems to not have experience and just was full of herself.
