The workers their are sad sorry excuses for human beings. They have a Napoleon complex and make up rules or laws that are nonsense. The postmaster general needs to fire the entire stupid staff and replace them with trained staff. Go to sandy spring post office instead. Dont waste your time with the ignorant trash at olney post office.

Absolute worst customer service. They do not let you use any of their tape you have to buy it there at the store. I had to leave with my package that I bought at the location to go home and tape it just to bring it back. A lady was in line and was a little confused about shipping her box. Apparently it did not fit properly in the box and changed the shape of the box. The representative (rude) told the woman she could still use it but there would not be any insurance provided by USPS. I tried to help the woman by saying get a different box that will allow for insurance just in case. The rude representative said "That is not what I am saying do not listen to her because I am the one that works here". If you work in a place that deals with customers have the decency to provide respectful service. It is a shame that people like this still have a job and can be rude to their customers. I will drive further and out of my way to go somewhere else!!

Sure, sometimes there are lines and waits in Olney -- welcome to the USPS -- but if you are waiting you probably have come close to closing or another busy time. Also, last time I checked, Olney isn't a major metropolis and I'm glad we have the facility and service we have. What you need to know is that the people at this location are superb, wonderful, warm, fun, knowledgeable and friendly people. They help the person they are waiting on until all of their needs are serviced; that may mean you have to wait for your turn for excellent service. I've lived in Olney for close to three decades and think of this as a quintessential local community service even though it is a national organization. The counter help know many of the customers.

Horrible post office that needs to teach the employees customer service skills. I waited in line behind two customers to pay for tape and have my pre-paid package scanned and accepted. Their were two employees working the counter, once I got up to the counter the one worker said, "he was closed" and quickly walked into the back, leaving the other guy alone with two more customers standing behind me. When it was my turn I was helped by Ed who greeted me. I told him that I needed my package scanned and accepted. After I told him that, he got an attitude and told me to, "drop it off over there" and that he "couldn't give me a receipt". I tried to explain to him that I needed some form of proof for dropping off my package because I have had issues before where the post office said they never received it. Ed kept talking over me and raising his voice but finally ended up giving me a receipt, horrible customer service! Every other post office I go into, I walk in and I don't even have to ask for them to accept it and print me a receipt, they all do it without me even asking. Go to another post office and save yourself from terrible customer service... I will be driving out of my way to not have to deal with this location.....fake robotic-like service with terrible attitudes in Olney.
