Went to get my name changed on my social security card and ended up being served by a short fused woman. She couldn't give me a straight forward answer to my question so she went and got her supervisor and made it look like a dramatic scene. The supervisor wasn't much help either because everything she knew was second hand from the first woman. I get this is a hard job, but the communication skills are greatly lacking.

Drain the Swamp, some of this offices employees are turds in the punch bowl, they are not helpful, they are rude and inconsiderate considering just how long the wait times are sometimes. I also understand how monotonous the job can be, but If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen. Your office attitudes are infectious good and bad not only to your co-workers but also the people you serve. If you can't do the job with a fake ass smile, there are multitudes that are capable of taking your place. Just remember you are replaceable, and the wheel will keep spinning without you. If it is that fact that bothers you most, than you shouldn't have become a bureaucrat. Hope someone who matters at this office finds this review and reads out loud to you all, I have had many good experiences with this office, sadly it only takes one to piss someone off enough to write about it.

We started this process in the fall and received the same advice from every agent we spoke with. We received a letter saying we simply needed to bring in the evidence of national health plan coverage. We did so and were served by a gentleman at the office who was uninformed and claimed to be unable to deal with the issue. He was absolutely wrong, was uncaring and downright sarcastic. He made sure the final decision was not in our favour and made the wring decision which he then communicated to us by phone, again very sarcastic and uncaring .

Surely no working office could get away with being open for a measly three hours in one day, but that is exactly the case for the US Social Security building in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Every Wednesday, for no rhyme or reason, this office opens at 9am and closes at 12pm, something exceedingly unfortunate if you hold down any type of day job whatsoever. These unnatural business hours could maybe be excused if they were open at least one of the weekend days, but this is a government facility we are discussing, so we know that this is not the case. Not that their hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday are anything to applaud either, for they are only open from 9am to 3pm on those days. If you work from 7:00am to 4:00pm like myself, you have little luck of ever updating or receiving your social security card, unless you rush over during the noon hour (everyday but Wednesday of course). I only hope everyone looking to venture into this office has kind employees as I do, as well as an opportunity to extended their lunchtime. Their one saving grace is perhaps their employees, or at least the one I spoke with, who was very polite and efficient.

This pl.ace is still there, they are not leaving the new area. They have much more room then the did at their old location. I know that this is the best location for them.
