Story

Steve USS Cunningham, Former 2x Cruiserweight World Champion presents The USS Fight Academy, Pittsburgh's newest fitness and training facility utilizing boxing as the vehicle to achieve physical fitness.

Our gym is open to professional and amateur fighters, as well as men, women and children with no previous boxing experience. All are welcome!

We offer open gym hours 6 days a week, boxing fitness classes, personal and small group training sessions as well as 6-week weight loss challenges offered several times a year.

This place is awesome!! If you need an intense workout, with amazing trainers, this is the place to be. If you have little ones, no biggie, they are welcome also. The price is reasonable and there is no contract to sign. The owners and trainers care about your success. They give you that extra push when you need it! Definitely worth checking out!!

I started yet another exercise program, class,  knowing I never stick with anything in February and still going strong and we are entering June.  The first day I showed up for a meeting with the owner I was about 10 minutes early.  I met Erica waiting for the gym to open, it was a snowy very cold day.  She got out of her car to tell me that everyone would be there soon, introduced herself to me and proceeded to talk to me about the gym and answered my questions and stood there as we were  freezing.  The point I’m trying to convey is when you get here for your class and the awesome people here you don’t look at the time not once until they say “thanks for coming and you killed it today”.  We all push each other and help each other to achieve goals, we realize we are all here to be healthier and stronger person, I actually love going.  Oh yeah, I have seen such a fantastic transformation in my body but most importantly my self esteem is through the roof, being that I am almost 50 self esteem is still very important.  I don’t think I have ever had felt this good about myself and it’s an amazing feeling.

I started going to this gym in January 2018 and I fell in love!! This is my second home and family now. Their weight loss program is one of the best out here and everybody ( the owners, trainers, gym memebers and boxers) are super motivating and supportive! Everybody pushes each other to do better and you get a great workout. Don’t forget, IT’S FAMILY FRIENDLY!! So if you can’t find a babysitter, you can bring your kids to sit with their tablets, phones, etc., or sign them up for the children boxing program which is great for exercise, discipline, self defense and introduce them to a new sport!! I tell everyone about this gym in person or on social media. Because of this gym and the people in it, I have continued to workout for 5 straight months and signed up for extra activities and I still meal prep! This was they only gym that kept my interest and cared about me as a person and started my new healthier lifestyle. This is my “Cheers”, everybody knows your name. This gym is like no other! You get motivating coaches that won’t let you give up and truely care about you! This is my second family! Don’t let me forget, I can even bring my son so I don’t have any excuses not to come.
