On 6/28, I attempted to schedule surgery. The scheduler didn't know what to do so she sent a message to the nurse. I received a message from the nurse on 7/1 asking for surgery type. I responded on the same day. 7/15, still no response. On 7/3, I received a message from the patient care navigator introducing herself. I told her that I needed to schedule surgery. On 7/9, i reached out to the patient care navigator because surgery had still not been scheduled. I received a response from the Lead patient Care Navigator stating that he was covering for her. He then TURNED OFF REPLIES so that I could not respond further to him or her. On 7/15, I reached out to the nurse, asking for assistance in scheduling surgery. I finally heard back on 7/22 from the nurse. She said that the scheduler had been out of the office and I should hear from the scheduler next week. ONE FULL MONTH OF TRYING TO SCHEDULE SURGERY!!! I reached out to my doctor who is also with Vanderbilt and requested that I be referred to a St. Thomas doctor. St. Thomas received my referral on Friday and I'm scheduled to see the surgeon next week. VANDERBILT...DO BETTER. Your patients should not be ghosted by you. You get 2 stars because I did like the surgeon that I met. Let's see if St. Thomas does better.
I cannot recommend Vanderbilt Medical Center enough. I had a bone marrow aspirate and biopsy today at the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center to rule out multiple myeloma. I, of course went on YouTube to see what to expect. Huge mistake. I confess to being a little anxious about the expected pain I was about to endure. Never happened. I've had more discomfort from skin biopsies. Krista, the nurse practitioner, and Allison, my nurse were unbelievable. They were friendly, reassuring, and empathetic. They were truly interested in me and my comfort level rose. They explained every step of the procedure and Allison even massaged my back during the procedure which distracted me from what Krista was doing. I kept anticipating pain, and it NEVER happened. When the procedure was completed, I thanked them profusely for their skill and expertise. The purpose of this review is 2 fold, #1. Give these fine caring professionals the credit they are due and #2. Go on public record that a bone biopsy does not need to be painful and if that is recommended to you to achieve a diagnosis, PLEASE DO IT. Knowledge is power. Definitely worth the 4 hour round trip to go to Vanderbilt. Keep up the good work!
The staff are very nice and efficient. The employees are very courteous. You might want to go a little early to the food court as it becomes very crowded during the lunch times.
I am so impressed with this place. The staff is amazing and I can't say enough about Dr Lindsey Goodman. The knowledge compassion and will to communicate is off the chart. Best experience I have ever had at a medical facility.
Overall I had a very good experience with Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. I took treatments there in 2022. The staff took good care of me. Amanda was an excellent nurse!!!. Dr. Keedy is an excellent oncologist!!!.
I am very pleased with the cancer treatments I recieved at Vanderbilt. The staff were very concerned that my needs were well covered. They set up my treatments at home to not travel there every 3 weeks but were kept in control of my care
I am so incredibly grateful for this place and the brilliant team of doctors and nurses that saved my dad's life here lookin' at you Doctors Lockney, Murphy, and Rosenthal! He was diagnosed with stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma which was pretty much the scariest moment of my life. The care, communication, and attention my dad received here were top notch, and I'm so glad we chose this place for his cancer conquering journey. 7 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy isn't easy, but when it's a life saving necessity, I'd highly recommend seeking a hospital that specializes in this sort of care. We drove an hour and back everyday for his highly advanced treatments, and for that he is alive and thriving today.
Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center doctors, PAs, nurses and other professionals contributed to cure my two difficult cancers and I have no doubt, that they saved my life. I never observed anything short of medical excellence during my five years of treatments and appointments there. Thank you to Dr. Gilbert, Dr. Niermann and Dr. Sinard and to the teams that support them.
There is not enough stars to rate this amazing group of people!!!! Dr. Kenneth Neirmann is the most amazing doctor I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, nevertheless of having the privilege & honor of having him by my side during this most difficult time of my life being diagnosed with cancer . He should be an example for all of the doctors out there as far as Patient Care goes. There is not enough words to describe the care that he provided, as well as his team!!!! I will forever be GRATEFUL & so VERY THANKFUL FOR EACH ONE OF YOU !!!!
It is such a shame that this is what Nashville has to offer for cancer patients. The doctors here only care about money and do not mind letting their patients suffer.
