If I could give more stars I would! My wife and I found the Vandiver Inn on the Knot in search of our wedding venue. From the first day we visited we knew there was something special about the place. Once we determined we wouldn't want to get married anywhere else we decided to attend one of their specialty dinners they have throughout the year. We were glad we did! The food was beyond delicious and getting a chance to spend time in the venue prior to our big day was very special. Since then we felt we became part of the Vandiver family. Leading up to our big day we were always welcomed in to look around for decorating ideas and to bounce our thoughts off the staff. Then the weekend of the wedding came around and we weren't treated like royalty or guest, but as part of the family. Anything they could do to make the weekend perfect was done without hesitation. And we cannot count how many of our guest came to us with such high remarks of everything. From the property and houses, to the staff to the food everything was a hit! We already knew before the wedding we would be back every year for their Valentine's dinner, but since leaving after our special weekend we are looking for any reason to go back!

It's really not all that nice. It's historic and quaint and the service is pretty good, but the facilities really need a makeover. We stayed here several years ago and looked forward to our second visit last weekend. Check in was fine except for the vacuum cleaner lying on the floor blocking the entrance. The room was so dusty I wrote in the dust. There was mold around the tub and a pull was broken on the dresser. No tissues and no extra toilet paper. The room was cold and apparently heated only with space heaters which took forever to warm up The breakfast was good but they could use more tables. The walls are paper thin and we heard our neighbors clearly. The mattress was old and worn. Such a disappointment.

We stayed there with our kids this past weekend for a wedding and everything was simply amazing! The inn was beautiful and our room in the Murphy house was very spacious and comfortable. The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly :) We are hoping to go back again soon

I was a guest at the inn for a friend's wedding this past weekend. The rooms are so quaint and cozy. Each one is unique!!! I loved the whole experience. The food was absolutely amazing and the breakfast was freshly made each morning. Pancakes, eggs, and bacon the first day! Then biscuits and gravy the next! Each meal came with all of the fixings and options for those who did not wish to eat the hot breakfast. The level of service from the Innkeeper was phenomenal. The general manager on site was also instrumental in ensuring that everything ran smoothly that weekend and that all guests were properly accommodated.

My girls and I were stranded in Havre de Grace last night after the bridges were closed because of high winds. We ended up at the Vandiver Inn and were greeted by an angel! Kim couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, even though she was extraordinarily busy because of other stranded travelers. People like her are what keeps this world a happier place! After a restful night with beautiful accommodations, we were served by more friendly and helpful staff the next morning at breakfast. I love the Vandiver!!
