Story

At Vascular Interventions of Tampa, we specialize in minimally invasive procedures for dialysis access management and treatment for vascular conditions, including uterine fibroids and varicoceles. Our board-certified physicians use the latest image-guided technologies and provide safe, effective and individualized care in a comfortable outpatient setting. Our approach to vascular care is a commitment to our patients and the referring physicians of the Tampa Bay community to offer an exceptional patient experience and excellent outcomes through advanced treatment options.
What once required surgery with large surgical incisions and prolonged recovery periods can now be accomplished in our state-of-the-art outpatient center with minimal discomfort and a quicker return to your daily activities. The minimally invasive techniques used by our interventional radiologist and vascular surgeons replace open surgical procedures with no large incisions, less risk, reduced pain and shorter recovery time for patients.
Our board-certified medical director, Warren Krackov, MD, is an interventional radiologist and specializes in providing critical maintenance, management and treatment of dialysis access, uterine fibroid embolization, varicocele embolization, and more. Dr. Krackov is specifically known for using the transradial approach to uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), a safe and effective alternative that uses the radial artery in the wrist instead of the femoral artery in the groin. Dr. Krackov is a pioneer in offering and treating his patients with this more accessible and comfortable approach that delivers an improved experience with fewer complications compared to the traditional transfemoral approach to UFE. “The transradial access is a way for us to perform the uterine fibroid embolization procedure in an even less invasive way,” says Dr. Krackov. “It’s very comfortable. It’s very easy to recover from. It’s very well tolerated. So we’ve taken essentially a minimally invasive procedure and made it less invasive… about as least invasive as you can get.”
