The food is disgusting, and the quality has plummeted dramatically. The plantains taste exactly like cardboard. The stew chicken has both skin and feathers. The service is bad and not worth the wait. Vees was a well-known Jamaican restaurant in Crown Heights. However, this has made a return for the worse!Food: 1/5
This is the best Jamaican Caribbean restaurant in NYC five stars on top of five stars. I could eat their food every day if I could afford it. It’s always busy people all day long people in and out. You can even sit in to eat. The atmosphere is great. I mainly love the oxtails dinner the cow foot soup and roti ect .I be fending for their food and when I get it, I’m so excited to eat it . The soup I even reheated and put it in a pot, so it won’t lose the natural flavor . I know a lot of people don’t like soup this soup would knock out flu and cold .. possibly even Covid . I never reheat in a microwave I’m there number one fan … and I remember years ago they used to be on Nostrand and Sullivan plaice . Still top-notch food .
I was told Vee's has the best oxtail in Brooklyn. Maybe they need to post the chef picture because it was average at best. I will be returning the rest of the menu items.Food: 3/5
Most of the food is great drink also pretty good. ORDERING system however is terrible if u dont know u will b waiting a long time 4 some food & that's unfortunate for no reason at all a little organizing can rectify that immediately I would assume . & that RUG or something stinks in there it need fi CHANGE OR FIX . But It doesn't effect the food its still pretty good
Been coming here for a while and recently the food has gone down. Came recently and bought two medium rice and curry/ stew dishes and they werent prepared well. There was basically no meat at all in this goat curry and all bones excuse this picture- ate a bit and turned it to check. In the stew chicken, there was no gravy, just chicken and rice. Wasted $22. Won’t be coming here again, unfortunately because the owner is sweet. However, the staffs are extremely rude even though the owner is right there.
Today's steak was not good I had a large bone with a piece of meat that I could not cut with my knife as it was so tuff.I did not enjoy my food. Usually the steak is soft and meatynot a great big bone in my medium meal. I got large salmon that was very good.Food: 3/5
It's a good selection if you're craving some Jamaican cuisine, but definitely a hit or miss from my experience, but when they hit, the food is awesome.Food: 4/5
We ordered Jamaican breakfast, Ackee and saltfish, Mackerel and kalaloo , fried dumplings. Each dish comes with plantains and root vegetables. Fried dumplings were a bit too oily. Everything else was good. The service may not be the best but friendly enough.
I always pass by this place but never walked in. I’m so disappointed with West Indian food lately that I was very skeptical to buy from anyone else, PS I grew up with cooks and bakers. I finally took a chance and decided to order something small so I won’t waste too much money incase I did not like it. I’m Trini so I ordered a chicken roti besides the roti skin not being super soft and it was more like flat bread however the flavor or the curry chicken was on point. I don’t like spicy food yes I know so it’s was just right for me. The next day I sent my daughter to get me another just to see if the flavor is consistent. Instead of the chicken they accidentally gave my daughter a goat and y’all I haven’t eaten curry goat in years over 15 but I gave it a try and omggg it was soft and flavorful, the roti skin still the same but the flavor is so good I can over look it. Thank you Vee’s for finally giving me real west Indian flavor. Their price is reasonable compare to others in the area that over price their food. I also can’t wait to try their chicken foot soup on Wednesday
Food was delicious and everything there gave a warm welcome - got the jerk chicken, mac n cheese, fried plantains, and rice and peas -- all 10/10Food: 5/5
