Story

Brian A. Ward, DVM, Practicing Soft Tissue, Orthopedic, Neuro Surgery for Small Animals (cats and dogs)

A native of Owensboro, Kentucky, Dr. Ward attended the University of Kentucky, where his undergraduate and post-graduate work focused on molecular biology. He has published numerous research articles in respected, peer-reviewed scientific journals addressing different variables of intracellular vesicular transport. After graduating from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine, Brian was selected as a Rotating Intern at North Carolina State Veterinary Teaching Hospital. After completing his internship, Dr. Ward entered a post-doctoral residency training program in Small Animal Surgery at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, where he was involved in research focused on the isolation and replication of adult stem cells for use in the treatment of urology and oncologic disorders in dogs. Dr. Ward’s surgical residency was completed at Pet Emergency & Specialist Centre in Melbourne, Australia, where he became experienced in advanced orthopedic surgical techniques such as arthroscopy (stifle, elbow, hock), joint replacements (knee, hip, elbow), and advanced dysplasia treatments (hip, elbow), and cranial cruciate ligament repair (TPLO, TTA) as well as soft tissue and oncologic surgery.

Dr. Brian Ward is excited to be back in Kentucky with his two dogs (Soloman and Molly). He is looking forward to sharing his surgical expertise with the tri-State area as the owner, operator, and surgeon at Veterinary Mobile Surgical Services.
