I have dined here many times and it has always been good, until today. I ordered the pecan-crusted chicken and it was a very odd texture, as though it was under cooked. The salad was fine. The coffee was the color of tea, so weak it was hard to believe it was coffee.  The service was fine. Hoping it was just an off day.

Awesome breakfast.  The omelet and fried new potatoes were the best.  Small interior but great atmosphere.

Owner was not very nice. Needed a reservation for a Sunday in Blowing Rock? Not necessary, seemed to be favoring locals. Gladly gave a table of 4 preference over a party of 2 who were just visiting. Seemed very chaotic and staff did not seem happy. Probably because of management. My advice to this place is simple. Don't ostricize your customers since they are what make you. This place is overrated. I know that it's important to serve locals but don't think that you are too good for everyone else. Shameful. I live in Charleston and if some restaurant ever did this they would be out of business.

Always a treat: great food and service. But make a reservation, all the locals are onto this place! Be sure to read the menu carefully... the hot sandwiches are delish  and easily overlooked, and always check out the specials!

The owner was extremely rude. There were plenty if tables but was told all were reserved. Maybe we weren't dressed nice enough? Guess they pick and choose what money is worth taking.
