First and last visit. Noticed adds saying "get your car keys made here", went in, was told yes we have matching key and it is this amount. Took 40 minutes, let them in my jeep twice, finally went to pay. Handed card, charged and left. Looked at key in bag (first time I saw since being shown the matching one), it was totally different and costs twice as much ($60). Walked back in, manager said I cant return a key. Returned all the items I just purchased. Was glad to have small hardware store in my new town, but guess that was the last visit.

Great Hardware store. I like it because I can find almost any size screws and nuts there, stainless steel or regular. So they are opened even on Sundays which is a great support for hobby guys.

These guys didn't seem very smart today: I called 9/12/14, 2pm on a Friday, to see if they carry coils of copper tubing. The man who answered said he needed to transfer me to that department. I was on hold 2 minutes and then the line went dead. I called back and told the guy I was calling back because I got hung up on....he didn't care or apologize or anything, just transferred me again. This time I was on hold maybe 30seconds and another guy answered and I asked him and he said it was the wrong department....so he transferred me again, another short wait on hold and a third guy answered. I explained exactly what I was looking for, the sizes, length, price, and whether it was ok for potable water. After waiting on hold a few minutes he returned with 3 answers, but not the price, so I asked again. After another longer wait on hold he finally returned with the price...the call lasted 12min. Phew....it took 2 calls and 14 minutes (I checked my phone log) to get some simple information and continue my project. At least the third guy was fairly cool on the phone, but overall I disliked my experience today. Other experiences with Virgil's have ranged from so-so to pretty-good...sometimes they're nice, sometimes they seem a bit semi-grumpy/take-us-or-leave-us rather than the consistently friendly, positive, caring, customer-serving that I look for in high-quality businesses these days....not that the hardware stores around here have very high standards or anything...but hey, if we give honest feedback at least we've done our part as customers :)
