I needed a last minute blow out for a wedding. Well, I had the best experience. The inside is vintage and trendy. The staff is very nice and flexible. They ended up having to change my appointment because someone got sick and fit me in perfectly! My hair feels and looks great! I will definitely be going back for consultation and color.

I would like to begin by saying that I do not typically write poor reviews about services I have received, however after a great deal of thought, consideration and time, I have decided to post my experience with Virtue salon publicly.  The salon was recommended to me via a personal friend of the owner.  I entered the salon a year and a half ago with long, healthy, shiny hair that fell to the middle of my back.   I rarely put heat or other products on my hair, and it had never looked better.  In January of 2017, I made an appointment for a root touch up.  The stylist asked me if I would like to have my hair styled that evening.  I told him yes, because it saved me from having to style it in the morning.  He began by applying product to my hair, blow drying, applying more product and finally styling it with a wand.  I remember leaving the salon and thinking my hair felt very dry on the left side of my head but thought this was due to an excess of hair products.  Within a few days, I noticed that the left side of my hair began to stick out and was very dry to the touch.  My friends asked me what happened, and I said it must have been burned a little bit.  Well, it was burned more than a little.  The entire left side and toward the back of my head had been burned with the wand used by the stylist that night.  It began falling out and got progressively worse over the next couple of weeks.  The stylist and owner told me that I could minimize the damage by coming in for deep conditioning treatments and gave me some complimentary products to use.  Nothing helped.  The last time I went in for a conditioning treatment, the owner suggested to me that I may have an undiagnosed medical condition such as hypothyroidism or that it was falling out due to stress.  However, a couple of weeks before that, she told me the damage was due to an excess of product being placed on my hair, not given time to fully dry and burned by a wand in which the temperature was set too high.  She then began to question me about medications I take (none of which have changed over the past 7 years).  To place the blame on me was about as unprofessional as it gets.  The stylist burned my hair that evening. Period.  I watched over the next few months as my hair continued  to break off.  I applied heat only once a week and had to wear it pulled back almost everyday due to all of the damage.  I ended up having to cut 4-5 inches off of my hair.  Because the burn started at the top of where the wand was placed, I am still trying to grow out the left side of my hair that was burned so badly.   It’s been a long process, and my hair is nowhere close to being where it was.  I’ve waited a year to write this; it will be another year before my hair is grown out enough to look healthy again.  Please be aware that some of the inexperienced and cheaper stylists are not adequately supervised, and the salon (the owner specifically) was not very apologetic and became very defensive when I told her that she should not be blaming me for the salon’s mistake.  I had my thyroid checked by the way, and my numbers were well within the normal range.  In all the years of having my hair colored, bleached and styled, norhing has come remotely close to the damage sustained that evening.  The way I was treated by the owner was rude and disheartening.  I am now a customer at Yin Salon across the street, and they have been working diligently to help repair the damage while trying to preserve some length.

Love. Never had a bad haircut here. Some stylists have left, so I haven't had a lot of experience with people who are currently there, but Shayla and Sarah are sure bets (and the only stylists currently there that I've worked with). My mum always complements my cut. 
Nice front of house people, and how can you argue with a vegan salon that donates hair clippings to oil spill cleanup? I feel like I'm helping and looking good all at the same time.
