NEGATIVE stars!! This place is HORRIBLE!! Please take a minute to read this.

This post is more about the negligence of Dr. Wathen than this rehab, but Genesis is an absolute joke. Majority of the nurses show no concern for their "patients" and/or their families. My grandmother was sent here by DR WATHEN - who is the most arrogant, least professional, careless, doctor I've ever had to deal with. My grandmother had stage 4 lung cancer (was doing WELL on her chemo pill, she was a miracle...she had it for over almost 3 years... then doctors decided she needed radiation... )after radiation she got extremely dehydrated and ended up in the ER, they also found out she had C.DIFF ..  SHE ALMOST DIED...LESS THAN 48 HOURS later  Dr. Wathen made sure she was discharged from ICU ( before she was ready), the DR's in ER didn't even hint it was time for her to leave...She was sent to Genesis at night, the help at night is a joke...he didn't even send her to the medical portion of the "rehab" ( & never once came to visit her)

The night I made sure my grandmother was taken out of here (after being in Genesis for almost a month) I asked her nurse to contact Wathen and let him know she needed to be in ER/ambulanced out... He told her no, and to give her stronger pain med. COMPLETE NEGLIGENCE. Heartless

**  My Grandmother came to Genesis able to sit up, had a healthy appetite, and participating in physical therapy. (The therapist, almost dropped her TWICE..) She left with a blood clot in her lung, a whole in her stomach, herniated intestine, and was bleeding internally. DR. WATHEN you are the reason my grandmother suffered the way she did. **  

The nurse was taking a long time to contact Wathen so I walked up to her desk, she looked at me then asked if I wanted to talk to Dr Wathen & handed me the phone - I told him I was a family member and that my grandmother needed an ambulance, his response "Uuuh....no!" I had no words..I handed the nurse (who was nothing but attitude) the phone and called 911 anyway. After a couple hours in the ER we knew she wouldn't last 48 hours. My grandmother would have died in excruciating pain in this dump because of DR WATHEN. NEVER GO TO DR. WATHEN OR THIS "REHAB" You will regret it. Your family is worth far more than what this place has to offer.

Lastly --  The food, they cook every nutrient out of the food...I made sure my grandmother had fresh/real food EVERYDAY!  Having prof culinary experience, it was extremely hard to look at what they serve. I currently work in healthcare, & am positive the complete lack of concern by the staff  will eventually put this place out of business. Its a shame this place carries a Christian name...
