My father is at Water's Edge - He is there because he has dementia and it was getting to be a lot for Jessica and me. We put him there because we thought that they were professionals caring for him. The people there don't care at all! We have shared our concerns and nothing is done and now all we get is an attitude from most not all of the employees, they don't speak to us or even say hello. I mentioned to one of the nurses about the way this place is and all she said was they're all like this, pretty sad. My father isn't that bad yet but some are pretty far down the road. The other day one of the residents was soaked through and it was at dinner time, the good aide(who stays in the dining room trying to keep the residents seated) told the aide that was in charge of her and she said the food was coming and she couldn't change her. They were probably that way as mothers too!(The food was not there yet and the aids were just standing in the kitchen with the door closed socializing, which is what these two aides do all the time) Every other weekend is bad,(we hate even going there, but we do. My father is more important.) the nurse and 2 of the 3 aides suck.(that was this past weekend) I could keep going on but I won't right now. We don't want to move him because he really gets confused with change. I really feel bad for the residents that don't have visitors because they have no one to speak for them.

We write this with the most sincere and heart felt thanks to the staff of the fourth floor. Our father has been so fortunate to have such giving people care for him as his Alzheimers has progressed to now, its final stage. The care that has been given to him, the attention to our concerns for our father has been a huge blessing to us as well. We would like to also make special mention to those that have gone above and beyond. Sandra has been a champion for our father and has even come in on days off to check on him. Morgan and Mary are responsible for all the residents, and yet they always can tell us exactly how our fathers day has gone, what he has been doing, eating and drinking, and if any PRN meds have been given to make him comfortable. Deborah always keeps our father actively engaged. Her energy with all her activities is the stuff that just lights up the room, and gets people's minds and bodies going! Nicole is cut from a similar cloth. A special thanks also to Kate who used to work with Dad before he required more one on one care. She like all of the above has a kind heart and was meant to do this work. Last, but not least. Michael, and we so much apologize, the women who does custodial work in the evening. We can see her friendly face, and will probably think of her name later. Although their primary jobs are to ensure that the environment is a healthy one...and a cleaner nursing home setting we have never seen. We will remember them for their kind interactions with our father and us. Sincerely, Linda Glaude and Brian Corey
