Basic and clean--I would call it Spartan. Gorgeous views. Nice selection of packaged breakfast items and decent coffee. DirecTV in the rooms and free WiFi. The inn keeper is very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Love the trophies in the main office--all the deer look highly suspicious of the bear. We've only stayed in the winter but the pool area looks recently redone and really nice with fresh decking and a hot tub. Family friendly.

Incredible views. Inexpensive. Rooms have all been updated and are very clean and comfortable. Road is noisy outside but not a problem once in the room. We have stayed twice while visiting VMI, 20 minutes away and out of county, and will continue to stay here as needed. Would recommend to anyone.

Spotless rooms. Heat worked great. Spectacular view. Friendly staff. This was our second stay in less than a week. Would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!!!

This is a great place to stay, and we will stay here whenever travelling in this area. The Wattstull Inn is located on a hill, facing large foothills and Mount Purgatory. Out your window, or sitting in the comfortable chairs on the porch give relaxing, beautiful mountain views. Our room was large and very clean. They have tall ceilings, and one of those bathroom heat lamps on a timer. The carpet looked new. The beds were comfortable, with a large mirror on the wall opposite one of the beds, which we like. The room was dark and quiet at night. The swimming pool and hot tub are on the hill and have great views too. The breakfast was generous, with many, many choices. The hostess and staff were friendly and kind, and accommodating. The online experience was great and the reservation process was easy, and you can even pick your room.
