In 30 plus years of owning a home this was the single worst experience we have ever had with a contractor. On June 19th Andy from We are Tops came to our house to measure our kitchen for new countertops. A month later on July 17th, Andy and a helper returned to install the new countertops. After they had left and we did a thorough inspection of the work we noticed the one end of the counter was 1/2" too short and they had tried to fill the gap with white caulking see picture. We also noticed the seam where the countertop, bar top and tiling meet doesn't line up see picture. When we called We R Tops and got no answer my wife sent an email saying we were not happy with the installation. Andy called her back the same day. When my wife explained what was wrong Andy told her that was our fault because our walls are crooked. When my wife suggested the issue was probably caused by improper measuring Andy went off on her. Yelling and belittling her, he was extremely aggressive. My wife eventually hung up because of how threatening his speech had become. She came and told me what had happened, so we called Andy back on speaker phone, so he wouldn't know I was listening. It was exactly the same, yelling, aggressive talk to the point of threatening. When I spoke up and told him he can't talk to my wife like that he became even more aggressive. We eventually hung up because it was obvious there was no civilized adult conversation to be had. And he absolutely refused to replace the counter or admit he had any part in it being measured or installed incorrectly. On August 21st, I was cleaning the counter behind the tap and noticed some white silicone on the dish cloth you can see it in one of the pictures. When I took a closer look there was a crack in the countertop where the backsplash meets the flat surface. I called We R Tops and the receptionist asked me to text her pictures, which I did. She texted back that the owner and installer had never seen that happen before and I must have banged the counter. I explained there is no way I could bang that area because it is directly behind the tap and the counter would have to be replaced. After two days of complete silence, I called We R Tops and Andy answered. he refused to let me speak and eventually told me to shut-up and hung up on me. I called him back, he told be he wasn't going to fix it and called me a derogatory term and hung up on me again. We have since called a different countertop manufacture who says countertops will crack like that from the saw cutting the sink hole if it is too close to the backsplash. We now believe Andy cracked the counter when cutting the sink hole and the silicone I found was how he covered it up. The pictures do not lie, see for yourself. Absolutely terrible workmanship, zero customer service and they obviously do not stand behind there product.
Dealing with We R Tops was a nightmare. We ordered and paid for our countertops through IKEA, but unfortunately had to work with this place to finalize the details. The experience was so unpleasant, we ended up canceling our order and getting a refund because he refused to start our order so that is was completed a few days within our kitchen being installed. Not only was the staff exceptionally rude, but the guy we dealt with even had the nerve to say, 'See, that’s why I didn’t start on your order—people from IKEA always end up canceling.' Just to be clear, we’re canceling because of how awful you are to deal with, not because we came from IKEA. We'll happily take our business elsewhere.
I was nervous to get a new counter install for my house is 100 plus years old and things can go wrong. Not only did the demo not destroy anything my backsplash is still mint condition. Andy was fantastic and so friendly and fast! Manny the counter installer was a sweetheart and really knows what he is doing working with slabs of stone. I didn’t catch his partners name but he was excellent too. I would highly recommend this company. Even Collette who did the quote and my point of contact was so nice and professional and fast responses to all my questions. If I could give 100 stars I would. I’m obsessed with my new counter!!! Reached out to Andy for a quotation over week ago. Provided measurements but understandably they were the Ikea measurements so he'd wanted the countertop measurements only. Sent it on Friday and have not heard back. Had to follow up and he'd responded that he was waiting for my measurements to which I'd replied that I'd sent it last week. It seemed like I was doing him a favour, especially in his tone and responses. My point is, if you don't want my business say so! And if you do, be sure to provide the best customer service from the onset. Will be taking my business elsewhere.
Fantastic company to work with! I needed minor adjustments to my laminate counter tops installed by a different company. We R Tops was very quick in providing an estimate and getting Andy out to our house for the work. Andy did an awesome job, was great to work with, the work looks great and he left our house cleaner than when he arrived. Can't recommend We R Tops enough.
What a rude lady ! Didn’t even spend 30 seconds in her shop and she was already frustrated and replied to my only question with a very rude tone . And at that moment I knew this is not a place to give business to. Best of luck !
That was hands down, the WORST customer service I've ever received! Lost my sale and that of my customer base as a local business. I'll scream from the rooftops so others will avoid bothering you, as clearly I did today.
Collette and the team at We R Tops are amazing. The order is always precise and right on time. If you are looking for excellence with great pricing I recommend We R Tops!
This place is definitely underrated. Just around the corner from Ikea, I strongly suggest you get a quote from We R Tops before you make a decision on a countertop. After about a dozen quotes in the GTA We R Tops offered the best price on our Cambria countertop. You'd be hard pressed to find a better price anywhere else. The staff were very friendly and Collette, the office manager, was amazing! She was very helpful and provided us with great advice regarding which countertop profile to choose and she also provided help with choosing a sink which was also a great price. A great experience from start to finish - Thank you!
Amazing experience from We R Tops. Collette and Andy were both so helpful in helping us with our custom kitchen countertop. IKEA failed to send my paperwork/plan to them and said it would take another week for it to be sent. I was already living without a kitchen for two weeks by then so I decided to go directly to We R Tops with my paperwork and receipts and see if they could help. Collette and Andy were able to arrange next day to come for measurements and same week installation. Andy did an amazing job installing the countertop and also gave us helpful tips on installing the sink. We are so appreciative of their great customer service and helpfulness.
