Story

The Ocala, Florida, Campus opened in 1997 and has proudly served the citizens of Ocala and the surrounding area.

Since Webster University believes in building strong communities, the Ocala Campus team is pleased that our alumni typically choose to remain here in the local area making contributions in the areas of business, education, government, and human services. The graduates from our Master’s degree programs have gone on to become some of the most well-respected school guidance counselors, mental health therapists, and business professionals and managers working for some of the leading organizations in Ocala and other surrounding cities.

The location is conveniently accessible from Interstate 75 on College Road. Traditional classroom courses meet one evening per week from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm, online, or blended evening and online. The MBA program has been a perfect fit for me and I've attended most of my classes in the evening in Ocala, online, or webcam. I mostly select the Ocala classes, but I did take one at he Orlando campus. The staff is very helpful from the front desk to the director, and many of the faculty (all are adjuncts) are the same as UF and UCF and have lots of experience in their fields and big time degrees. Almost all of my classmates work in banking, retail, medical, or non-profits (like me). The program was challenging and I learned a lot, but there were a couple students in my class that would do the minimum and expect (or feel entitled) to better grades than they received. You only get out what you put in! I think you get more instruction from Webster than you would fully online or at state school, and most of my classes had less than 12 students (and 80% female). An MBA will cost you around 20k, and I'm promised an 8k raise from my employer when I finish, so it's a wise investment for me.

Well my experience in the beginning was great until I got professor sokol. She appears nice but seems very inexperienced to teach. She only showed a lot of power points and spoke a lot about her own business that she and her husband is starting. She would tell you things and forget what she told you. She would state that she didn't get your assignments and you would have to send them again. My experience was very horrible because I went to her with different things and her communication sucks. They use Canvas which is where you can look at different things with the course your grade would say one thing and then you end up with something else. Canvas messes up a lot. So this professor went as far to give me a F. Now my other grades are 2 A's and 1 B when I looked on canvas I had a high B but then was pulled to the side by professor sokol a few days before class ended and she stated that my grade was low but never an F so I explained ok not knowing that she was failing me and asked why is it low she stated she didn't get certain assignments that some I had turned in and others I discussed having issues with Canvas and at those times she stated that she would figure it out and get back to me but that never happened. So long story short she failed me then accused me of plagiarism. Never in my life in all the years being in college have I been accused of such a thing. I redid the paper like she asked and was still accused and did an appeal just to be told by the main campus when I contacted them that they "NEVER" approve an appeal. So what is the point of an appeal process. This has been a stressful situation and people like this do NOT need to teach anyone with power points and forgetting what she tells students in class from class to class...very unprofessional. Other than that everyone else so far has been awesome at the Ocala campus. But not everyone is made to teach just because they may hold the degree to do so.
