Named best bookstore in Pennsylvania by Real Simple magazine, this place lives up to the reputation. Wonderful staff - helpful without being overbearing. Interesting collection of books and it feels like you've stepped back in time and found a real gem in an English hamlet.

This place is fantastic. Dark wood shelves (with those fun ladders on wheels), nice leather chairs, good selection of books, fresh coffee and treats - if you are a fan of great bookstores, this is a must visit. The used book section is fun to go through and the staff do a great job of recommending new books.

One star for the books. Minus 5 for how customers are treated. It must have been a slow night for the Uwchlan police force when they sent four officers to investigate a false accusation. Beware of the wacky clientele at Wellington Square Bookshop. You too may be accused of shoplifting. Someone reported a friend, visiting from out of town, who was with us. He had done nothing but look at books and bought a gift. I had my nose in a book when a female officer asked why I was not with my friend in the other room. "He's an adult and does not need supervision," I replied. The officer asked if I noticed the police officers speaking with him. They were not visible as there were book shelves blocking the view. I immediately went to see what was going on as her demeanor as well as the other officers' were as if he had committed the crime of the century. "You know why we're here," claimed the lady officer. Completely stunned at the ensuing chaos, I'm thinking..."Let's see, four officers...more than the total number of customers in the store...a police convention?" Needless to say, he was not guilty and was completely cooperative showing the police everything he had. Still the officers continued to accuse him. If someone reports what they think happened are you not innocent until proven guilty? There were no apologies. I am appalled at how our guest was treated and will not come back to this bookstore. Please take care of your crazy clients with false claims. As for the Uwchlan police officers, pick a place that serves good doughnuts so that you have something more important to do.
