My mother was admitted and had 2 surgical procedures. ED physician (Schierk) and nurses were very professional and did a fantastic job. The facility was on surge capacity but you could not tell by the care my mom received. Thank you. 6 main nurses and nurses aides did a fantastic job, very compassionate. The staff cared for our family as well as my mother. They kept us informed and provided superb care. The staff worked as a team as did the nurse manager. He sets a great example and his staff follows his lead. If you need a model this group might just fit the need. Again thank you from our entire family.

3rd hour I've been waiting in the ER to be seen. * Update * Spent 4 and half hours at the ER. Out of the 4+ hours I only spent about 7 mins actually seeing a doctor and nurse. I was told my X-rays came back fine and I should go home. Given a cheap cast and no pain meds. I fell off my motorcycle and sprained my wrist really badly. First and last time at the hospital. I'm sure my bill will be in the thousands for sitting in the ER for 4+ hours.

I am giving two stars for the handful of awesome people that made my stay at York bearable---like the woman that cleaned my room daily, the student that was training to draw blood during my stay, etc. Otherwise, the place would get one star and a double salute with a select finger. Why you ask? When I arrived from another facility, I was suffering a great deal. I warned nurses of this condition but I didn't get the necessary consult for over 48 hours. Only then was I able to find some level of relief but it should have happened immediately upon my arrival. Not over two days later. My symptoms showed the issue, I talked about it, the blood work backed me up, and yet, nothing was done. Between that entire mess, some nurses being very rude like there was no possible way I would know the best way to deal with a condition I have had for most of my life and a doctor cursing at me and belittling me, the place felt more like a prison than a place of healing. It was ridiculous. I am generally a very patient and forgiving person but the care I endured here was sub par at best and frankly, I felt trapped in my worst nightmare. I can't believe an amazing nurse from the previous facility recommended the place before I was transferred because she previously worked with the same people.

6 1/2 hours+ still haven't been seen by Dr. Nurses ran some tests and I looked up my own test results 2 hours ago on wellspan portal. Emergency Room procedures need serious adjustments. Paying thousands in healthcare bills to sit in a waiting room.

Why do people rate the hospital with low stars if wait is long and do not understand if acuity is high with very sick patients. It certainly is at no fault of hospital.
