Story

Welcome to Westside Church, located in Olathe, Kansas. We are made up of people from all walks of life. We have found that following God is the most rewarding life you could ever experience. Westside Church is a place where you can build relationships with others, experience God in worship, and be empowered by practical, life-giving teaching from God's Word. We look forward to seeing you at one of our weekly services, so you can experience God's life-giving power for yourself.

Sunday Schedule

9:30 & 10:50am -- Morning contemporary services. Westside has two identical services that are composed of singing contemporary worship music, fellowship and a message. We view our Sunday morning services as the most important time of the week for our entire community.

9:30 & 10:50am -- Adult's, Children's & Student Sunday School classes. Children's classes are provided during both morning service times. Student (7-12 grade) classes are offered during the 10:50am time. Adult classes are offered during both times and there are several different groups to choose from. click here for a SS brochure.

6-7:15 pm -- Evening Praise Service. This service is viewed as our family service and includes all ages (kids through senior adults). Our evening service consists of singing worship music and a message. This service is not the same as our morning services and includes different worship songs, a different speaker, and a different message.

Wednesday Schedule

7-8:15 pm -- Evening Prayer & Praise. Teens, College-Age & Adults all have opportunities to worship and interact with teachers/speakers on Wednesday nights. Sometimes these groups join together for worship and sometimes they meet individually. Each Wednesday is a little unique.

Children worship in a separate area during the summer. During the school year, children have Caravan, a scout-like program with age-appropriate activities.

What denomination is Westside Church?

Westside Church is affiliated with the Nazarene Denomination. We are a Christian people. We value our Wesleyan-Holiness heritage and believe it to be a way of understanding the faith that is true to Scripture, reason, tradition, and experience. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin birth.

We are a Holiness (d. to be set apart) people. God, who is holy, calls us to a life of holiness. We believe that the Holy Spirit seeks to do in us a second work of grace, called by various terms including "entire sanctification" and "baptism with the Holy Spirit"-cleansing us from all sin; renewing us in the image of God: empowering us to love God with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength, and our neighbors as ourselves; and producing in us the character of Christ. Holiness in the life of believers is most clearly understood as Christlikeness.

We are a Missional people. We are a sent people, responding to the call of Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit to go into all the world, witnessing to the Lordship of Christ and participating with God in the building of the Church and the extension of His kingdom (2 Corinthians 6:1). Our mission (a) begins in worship, (b) ministers to the world in evangelism and compassion, (c) encourages believers toward Christian maturity through discipleship, and (d) prepares women and men for Christian service through Christian higher education.

Who can go to Westside?

We welcome ANYONE, from ANY walk of life and in ANY stage of life to join our community. Just as God welcomes all as His children, we welcome all into the church.

How do I dress to come to Church?

There is no "dress code" at Westside. Everyone has their own style, so you will notice everything from slacks and ties to grungy jeans and t-shirts. It's quite an eclectic mixture that shows our uniqueness and freedom to be who God created us to be!
