Teague was the perfect agent to help us buy our first house.  As inexperienced newbies, we had lots of questions, which he always responded to quickly.  He put in long hours on the weekend for us, and always had our best interests in mind.  He made sure to come to the inspection, and help us understand everything that needed to be taken care of.  I would confidently recommend him to anybody looking to buy a home in the Iowa City area!

No one can be reached at emergency maintenance number... elevator breaks for weeks at a time... last minute construction that takes paid parking... pipes freeze during the holidays... raw sewage pipes bursting in the garage... just a normal year at westwinds.

And try calling the front desk lady... get ready for the biggest canned answers you've ever heard. Good thing they are raising our rent $50 dollars, maybe they will finally afford better service. Renters be wary, I don't recommend these folks.

Teague and the entire Westwinds team were amazing from start to closing day. Teague emailed us many properties that were appealing to us based on our preferences. Teague was extremely flexible to then help us look at homes, despite our busy schedules. Once we found our dream home, he, along with his knowledgeable colleagues helped us through the negotiation process. Teague worked hard communicating to the seller to make sure all of our requests were met by closing day.  Throughout the process, he was readily available to field our questions via email or phone calls and always responded in a timely manner.

A few years ago, when I was still renting, my heat went out during the coldest part of winter.  I reported it to Westwinds and it took them 1 week to get it fixed.  Todd and Teague came over to "talk to me" when I told them I didn't think I should have to pay my rent during that period since it wasn't safe and I was unable to stay there.  Todd responded by telling me I would have been fine sleeping in an apartment that was only 40 degrees and there was no way they were going to reimburse me.  I ended up moving out and subleasing my place because I knew I couldn't depend on them.

Worst property managers I have ever had since I moved to Iowa City. They bought our building from Southgate, who was great, and has completely ran it into the ground. They don't fix anything around the building unless it directly costs them money (broken pipes, etc). The elevator broke and I was stuck in it for a HALF HOUR. The emergency maintenance guy just ignored my phone calls and my husband had to pry the door open to get me out. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.
