The website attracted me to the restaurant even though it was an hour drive from me. The staff up front was very nice but the wait was awful. The bar stools at elevated tables are extremely uncomfortable. Those type of tables and stools predominated. Once seated at a comfortable table, our expensive strawberry daiquiris had no noticeable alcohol in them although the taste was refreshing. The tacos took forever to arrive but did taste good when they were brought to us. The salsa and cheese and Tostitos were a nice plus. They take no reservations and only take Visa and MasterCard rejecting my Discover card. Will we go back? No, for sure!

Pretty good food. Got the 12 taco platter for around $35 and it was delicious. I recommend the Maui taco. I went on a Thursday night and there was an hour wait for two people that ended up being only 30 minutes. The biggest problem I had was that there were misting machines all over the place that drenched the floors and the seating areas. Only around 8PM-ish did they decide to shut them off. It was annoying to eat when I was getting pretty wet from these things. The view is very nice overlooking the marina. I would go again on a date.

Came here sometime in July (2017) on a gorgeous summer-Sunday night with wife and 2-year-old child. Staff friendliness was extremely uneven. Half the employees were bare minimum-nice and the other half were rude and curt. Problem is, diners don’t know which are which, so it’s a gamble flagging a server down. Speaking of staff, thought it was very odd that the maître d' was loitering at the server station regaling a female server with a story about an angry patron and how they were dimwitted and glad they had walked out of the restaurant. Additionally, our waiter mistakenly charged us an extra $28 (out of thin air), and assured us that this was an inexplicable oversight. We’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. All this unpleasantness would be, er...ingestible, if the food was stellar. Well, unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. All the food was cold. Even the fries with the melted cheese on top, incredulous as it may seem; was cold. Well, cold, great food is still great food, right? Yes. But ...this cold food was bad. Summary(TL;DR): Food was bad & cold, served by a person, that clearly wanted to be ANYwhere but there, doing ANYthing but serving foodsicles...which(!) we almost paid an extra 28 dollars JUST for the privilege of dining at... The Whale’s Tale.

Great waterfront location and high-energy. Nice local beer selection (many brewed right next door). Good tacos & reasonable prices. Going here on summer evenings feels like being on vacation.
