We're Montana's largest credit union with seven branches serving our more than 58,000 members. Visit us online at whitefishcu.com.
It’s important to know a little something of our history to get a true sense of what Whitefish Credit Union carries with it into the future. Whitefish Credit Union was state chartered in 1934, in the midst of the Great Depression, when five Whitefish area railroad employees contributed $5 each. Yep - total assets were $25. That's a pretty modest beginning. Since then Whitefish Credit Union has become Montana's largest Credit Union with over $1 billion in assets. A solid foundation was established by those who came before us and a financially sound and fiscally conservative approach has served all of us very well. Whitefish Credit Union members benefit from some of the highest dividend rates in the nation and lending money to our friends and neighbors is one of our primary reasons for operating. We love to do it, and we do it well.
Like all of us, Whitefish Credit Union is looking toward the future. How do we make our small town values align with the fast paced lifestyle that many of us are currently living? Our solution is to maintain the "old school" services and to incorporate up to date technologies that many of us have come to expect and rely on. So, if you need to speak with someone, just call or come by. We're happy to help. But if you're on the go and need information at the speed of light — call our automated phone teller at 877-928-8357. She's our newest "employee" and she isn't afraid of long work days. ATM's are on their way to our offices in Whitefish, Kalispell, and Polson, and now you can find us on the world wide web. All of these options will offer 24/7 access to our members accounts.
There's a pretty big difference between Main Street in Northwest Montana and Wall Street in New York City. And those differences aren't just geographic. There's a definite mind set that goes with our Montana sky line - it's wide open, uncomplicated, and honest. At your Whitefish Credit Union, we handle your finances with the same attitude. We're not trying to be edgy or trendy, and we're definitely not out to play a shell game with your financial future. We're here to offer you the same safe and sound financial services that have brought us where we are today; the largest Credit Union in Montana with over a billion dollars in assets! And it all started in 1934 with five railroaders with five dollars each - that's pretty uncomplicated.
Come in to any of our offices. Take a look around and see for yourself, we're wide open, uncomplicated and honest. Just like the Montana sky line. And that's about a million miles from Wall Street. If you're like us, you're happy about that!
