This is my favorite place in Pittsburgh. Trendy, retro. Delicious food. Amazing cocktails. The BEST fries. And - buffalo chicken salad at the bar. Which is, in my opinion, the best bar meal ever. The brunch is good too! They do it all!

Ace Hotel eatery. I was told the food is fabulous. Not so. It is just "OK". The eggs, bacon and sausage were cooked and presented as if it were 1950s diner fare--uninspired and flat. Biscuits and gravy were decent in terms of flavor, but both mine and coworker's had hard biscuits and little gravy. We asked for more gravy and were charged $2.00. Like most Pittsburgh food, I find this place way overrated (sorry, Dad!). Like the X-Files crowd, I want to believe, but this place just did not deliver. Cool building, though!

Along with the ace hotel this is an amazing spot. Prices are premium but the food and service has never disappointed. Also if you’re u have a large group they do have a private room to the back which is perfect for 8-10 people

We went for dinner on a weekday and didn't seem that busy at that time. We started with the focaccia and also ordered the vegetarian tasting and the duck breast. The focaccia was pretty good but some bites were extremely salty. Our entrees were mediocre and we ended up not finishing our meal. I don't think the experience was worth the upscale price. 

Also, there is a bar that shares the same open space which starts blasting music towards the end of dinner. It was hard to hear what each of us was saying and it kind of killed the mood. Furthermore, the service was slow. There were only about three tables at the time but still getting the food and even the check was a struggle. 

But it seems that all the other reviewers had a stellar time, so this is probably an outlier experience.

The atmosphere is very different! In the absolute best way! The staff educated me on where the beef comes from... And how fantastic the beef would be! So, I took a chance at 12 in the afternoon and dived right into the steak and eggs entree! The beef could have been cooked medium well and it would have melted in my mouth (mind you, I'm a mid rare gal which is what I ordered) This is one of the best steaks I've had in years and I have ordered steak all over the city of Pittsburgh! I raved so much my husband wanted to go THE NEXT day! The bar was set... Did they disappoint? By the stars I'm sure you can guess they did not! Do yourself a favor and try them out!
