This place is pretty cool. It's large but has a lot of beautiful scenery and wildlife. The ground hogs will come right up to you. Despite there being a sign not to feed them, people clearly do. There are lots of Buffalo and Texas long horns which is really cool to see such big animals up so close. This a lovely place to stop through for the day.

Absolutely beautiful scenery. Mount Scott is cool and a must see if you are near. Plenty of wildlife around for your viewing pleasure. Saw Elk, Coyote, Bison, Texas Longhorns, prairie dog towns etc. Some really nice lakes to fish/kayak in as well. If you are near Lawton and love the outdoors, I highly recommend visiting the Witchita Mountains.

Love! Love! Love this place! So many hiking trails, Ft Scott Mtn and wildlife. We have hiked several trails here and they have all been amazing. Some take you high a top the mountains and some will take you down to the river. Always adventurous and our dog Halo loves it! The All Trails app will let you download your trail ahead of time so that even when you don’t have service, you won’t get lost. It’s an amazing place right here in our backyard. Beautiful spot in Oklahoma.

Fantastic place to go. Has trails that range in difficulty and length so there is something for everyone. The camping is great and staff is friendly as well. My fiancé and I took out the dog on this trip on the Kite trail. He is an older German Shepherd but he still managed just fine. Have a great trip!

Great place to visit. Perfect for Motorcycles. Busy on nice weekends. You can spend all day on all the well maintained roads and trails on the wildlife refuge and never see all of it. Animals are used to vehicles and people but they are NOT tame. The Buffalo And Longhorn Cattle will NOT stop for you so be prepared to stop for them. Great visitor center with vending machines and clean bathrooms. Easy day trip from Oklahoma City or Wichita Falls, Tx
