One of the realtors at this agency - Tisha Bowman - sold me my house last year - a house in which she had a direct business interest in (it was rehabbed by her LLC - Delaware Avenue Properties). She also had business interests in a company called Davine Restoration & Construction LLC - which her husband worked for and which she used to certify my roof after the inspection found the roof to have structural problems. The contract was contingent upon both the roof repair (based on the home inspection) and an independent roof certification, as well as a 2 year warranty. I did not realize her personal interest in the roof cert company at the time - and the blatant conflict of interest. My roof has had 6 leaks in the first 7 months of ownership. Tisha refused to give me the contact information for the roof cert company (the phone number listed on the actual certification was fake), and I eventually found out that this company was defunct due to several lawsuits for incomplete work, and had gone out of business shortly after I bought the house. Meanwhile, I continue to have roof and ceiling damage, and I'm unable to get in contact with her. I will be contacting the city and an attorney about this - but I truly hope to save someone else from another fraudelent home transaction like this. This was my first time buying a house and I'm floored that this happened.
