My family and I have camped here 2 years in a row. The tent area is shaded, level and centrally located in the resort. My sons (3 & 4 y.o.) love the kiddy pool, splash pad, tunnel area and multiple playgrounds! We also always enjoy a round or two of mini golf while we're there. They're sticklers with the rules (wear your bracelet, don't jump in the pool, quiet after 10pm, etc) but it makes for an organized and safe stay every time! They also have the cleanest bathrooms we've ever seen at a campground. They're cleaned from top to bottom daily and it shows! We'll be back again next year!

Stayed at the Willits KOA for 4th of July week in 2016 and 2017. Here are the positives: friendly staff, clean bathrooms, cool water park area (but geared towards younger kids), cool jungle gym thing (again geared young), fun fishing pond, kids caught bluegill but I hear there are bigger, great spot to learn, pool was clean and mostly warm, small kiddie pool, ice cream social every night, place empties on the week days. Here are the negatives: can get pretty dusty, some KOA are cleaner/better upkeep, pool gets crowded in the afternoon, no sewer hook ups, not a lot going on in the surrounding area, compared to other KOA not a lot of activities for kids throughout the day (like crafts and stuff), obviously gets hot (not really the fault of the KOA, but some less shaded spots may have it rough). Overall, my kids (both under 7) like it here and that's really all that matters. No place is perfect, but this KOA seems to have just enough things for my kids to explore and gain some independence. After 2 years returning here I'll probably try a new place next year, but that's mostly because Willits doesn't have to much going on (except the rodeo), not because of the camp.

I am so not one to do a bad review but this one I felt was justified. We had reservations for the 4th of July weekend with my grandkids. My father suffered a stroke today and had to San Francisco area for surgery. When I called to cancel I was told because it was not 14 days prior I would be forfeiting my whole deposit. I asked if I could change dates and was told no. For a family emergency I would think they could make an exception or at lease not charge me my entire deposit when they KNOW they will rent out that campsite right away. I have been a KOA member since 2008 and never have I been charged this much this far out...I gave them 3 days notice. I will not be returning to this KOA and will share this experience. If they needed proof it was legitimately a family emergency I would and could have produced them medical proof. Very disappointed in KOA.

Female owner is crabby and unpleasant. She is a know it all and crazy strict. If you like to have fun avoid this KOA. Website is full of lies, no ice cream socials or kids entertainment on Sundays or Mondays.

Lots for kids to do. The park itself is completely gravel and dust. Showers a bit dated.
