6/24/2016 = Willow & Thistle was suggested to us by our venue, Normandy Farm, and since their studio is located on-site we decided to check them out. We are very pleased that we did. Steve Letendre, the director, was friendly and very knowledgeable. He worked within our budget and did not try to push us to order things we didn’t want/couldn’t afford. He also really listened to what we wanted in terms of flowers, style, colors, etc. and got to know our aesthetic. Based upon these things, he made some suggestions, and they were right on. My favorite was our flower girl’s “flower wand”. Our wedding day was also her birthday, and it was great to give her something special instead of the traditional basket of petals. On to the centerpieces and bouquets: W&T can do beautiful, elaborate centerpieces and decor, for sure – I saw examples of them. But what we wanted was simple and sweet. Steve’s team put together classic bouquets of gerbera daises (my #1 flower choice) in the perfect colors that got rave reviews from my mom, my girls, and my guests. They also created centerpieces that showcased the gerbera daises while maintaining a natural, just-picked wildflower feel. Additionally, I wanted to use my own vases for the centerpieces, and Steve was very flexible about that. The only hiccup was that they lost the little box that held my heirloom pin for my bouquet. (The pin is safe and sound.) The box wasn’t an heirloom or anything special, so it’s not that big of a deal. I just have to find another little box for the pin. Finally, Jen Murphy, production manager, was awesome. She confirmed all of the details and made sure all of the pieces of the puzzle came together just right. Both she and Steve were so flexible and understanding, like when we forgot to drop something off or missed the deadline for one of our payments (oops!). The team at Willow & Thistle was great to work with and made sure our wedding flowers and décor were exactly what we wanted in color, shape, and aesthetic.
