Story

Windmill Ridge is a great place to stay! We have 25 Luxury Cabins, a wonderful family-styled restaurant & bakery.

We are pet friendly and have plenty of parking for Semis and Travel Trailers, too.

I love coming here. The restaurant is great and the cabins are really nice. It's a great place to stay whether you're passing through or going out to hunt. I do wish they would add mini fridges to the cabin.

after a long drive down the Extraterrestrial Highway after dark which we almost died by hitting some cows we quickly started looking for a place to stay we found windmill Ridge we arrived late didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised with a cozy cabin number 8 with a jacuzzi tub yes there was a few things I would change but for the price you cannot beat it .Nice inside warm cabin feel. I would strongly suggest if you're driving at night to stop here it's a great spot to stop and rest it could also save your life. Driving these parts at night is not suggested unless you absolutely have to...!

We called ahead for a room so they knew we were coming. They said the grill closed at 6:30pm. We got there at 6:25 so quickly went in to register and quick order something to eat. They told us the grill had just shut down but they could make us a cold sandwich. We thought we would check with the waiter to see if we could at least get some soup. We then discovered that the grill had not been turned off, as the cook was still grilling hamburgers. He said “no”’, they would not put on 2 more hamburgers. If the grill had truly been shut off, we could have understood them not wanting to turn the grill back on, but that was not the case. They gave us room 24, which had toilet paper in the toilet and the floors looked like they had not been mopped good, so they then gave us 25, which was a little better, but microwave and fridge needed dusted super bad, and the Kleenex box was empty. We thought about leaving and going elsewhere, however, we were told we could check out but would still be charged for the room. DH

My partner and I were pleasantly surprised by this venue. The lodging was well put together with a variety of individual and attached cabins; each furnished with important ammenities. In "Stampede" we had a recliner, microwave, mini fridge, TV (with a decent cable selection), free wifi, private water heater, and the bathtub was super roomy with 6 jets. The resturaunt/lodge is open, tasteful & inviting, with cozy and secluded corners as well. The food was made to order, reasonably priced, and served promptly by attentive staff. I will consider returning here on future trips.

The food is great! It's a good place for a sit down meal while traveling.
