Nice area for walking with well maintained trails with some benches for resting and picnic tables if you take food with you.

Good location with plenty of parking. Not much sand beach. I would go for a picnic, but would not choose it for the swimming.

For the location it can not be beat. I prefer wilderness camping over this style, but I also can not complain about one thing from the eight years of staying a night or two per summer.
