Ordered from them several times, no issue, decent food. This past order within the last 2 weeks, I paid the tip & bill ahead of time to get a phone call that "no one was there to deliver."  I said, "then cancel my order and refund prepaid $3 tip." I was told to let her make a call. She called right back, told me it's $2 this time (it's to be FREE where I live). I agreed, said take it from the prepaid tip..." it arrived in decent time, I still tipped the guy. Well, that Phoenix & Dragon will be the LAST time I ever order from there. Next 2 days were dealing with food poisoning.

And no, Mr Know-It-All (shame you've been eating sub par food this long) it WASN'T at the end of the night.

This place is very good. There's a reason for the mixed reviews. If you're having a bad experience it's because you're getting food that isn't fresh. If you're getting food that isn't fresh it's either because you're going to the buffet late when they aren't putting out new food and they're literally about to close or you are ordering delivery and it takes too long to get to you. Common sense people. I've been eating food here since I was about 6 years old and I'm 27.

I hate to admit it but the first (and up to today) the last time I ate here was some 8 yrs ago when I first moved to the city. The food was bland. The only staff person was an older Chinese gentleman whom I could not understand and whose presence made me extremely uncomfortable. Since there were other oriental restaurants close by (incuding one across the street featuring better tasting food, extremely good service, extensive menu, and hot tea), I never saw any reason to spend my lunch money at a second rate restaurant.

After reading recent reviews that hinted at better accommodations, I gave it a 2nd look. The place is a storefront kept in clean condition. There are no staff on your side of the food line. You clear your table when finished. You walk up to the counter for beverage refills. Both the buffet and menu items were limited (pork, beef, shrimp, vegetarian, chicken presented in classic Chinese styles for the a la carte items) or approximately 15 items on the buffet ranging from 2 soups to small Chinese doughnuts. Serving vessels were small with the contents being replenished several times in an hour. As new food was presented, the hostess/server would yell out its arrival. Over all the establishment had the air of a a specialty corner of a college dining hall. The price (about $9 with beverage) was reasonable. The items, while fresh and served hot, did not make one want to go back for seconds (exception would be wonderful vegetarian spring roll). The sweet tea was not overly sweet. Delivery service is available. I probably will not be going back. While the food was good, and it was served in ample amounts, the harsh yelling became too much to bear. For me, my future dealing with them will be take out or home delivery.
