Story

In February of 1998, the Wooden Nickel expanded and opened a second restaurant in the heart of Sublimity, Oregon. One side of the facility offers a family dining area in a comfortable atmosphere. On the other side, a full service bar complete with Oregon Lottery games. The characteristics of the Silverton Nickel have carried over into the making of the Sublimity Nickel. It has the same relaxed home town atmosphere, along with excellent food at a great price.

The atmosphere is old fashioned but it is a low key bar & restaurant. They have a good sized selection of foods and a full bar. It's not quiet & not especially FOR children except when they have dinner with the family but they don't cater to children. The bar is separate from the dining area. It's not party central for younger adults but every age can go there for food. It offers meals like old fashioned meals people in a small town would consider the usual...like chicken fried steak & items that aren't especially contemporary but are good & fresh. It's usually busy but not packed. People might go to the bar on a regular basis...they have music on certain nights and different events. You never need to wait long...and the wait-staff are friendly & helpful. Prices for dinners seem to be reasonable for what you get.

Food is good, drinks are good. It's a small town bar with a small town feel. Not to keen on the homemade buns, but it doesn't stop me from enjoying a burger here now and then. Never had a bad meal.

Service was probably the best ever and food was hot and good portion...I am impressed

This place has gone down hill in the last 15 years, quantity has dropped and price remained, staff is still good though, speed of service is standard

Went in for their last crawdad feast- horrible service. Bad planning to have a new girl be waitressing (second day, 1st week in town) but she was a delight. Her supervisor was cranky, mean, took forever to get anything like plates, silverware, napkins, extra order of food, etc. She even asked people already sitting to move so that other people could sit at that table because they had a larger party. Not impressed.
