My husband was referred to him last year. In five visits we were never treated by him, only a PA. Finally they decided that my husband needed a particular test that only Dr. Wheeler could perform and that was the first time he met him. After the test, Dr. Wheeler quickly told him what he didn't have, and then what his diagnosis was and in less than a minute, walked out of the room. He never once asked if my husband had any questions, concerns, or possible treatments regarding the diagnosis. He just left. In talking with others who were sent to him, I find our experience is not unique. He appears unable to connect in any way with a patient. Don't waste your time here if you are looking for a doctor who has any interest in you as a patient or human being.
I called to make an appointment because an other dr referred me to Dr wheeler. When I called I was transferred 3 times speaking to 3 different women before I was finally transferred to an automated system and made to leave a voice mail. Still haven’t heard from that office and found it to be very rude of all 3 women in that office to just keep transferring me around. I called after lunch and before closing and feel this was unacceptable and unprofessional. Won’t be going to this office or dr.
Dr. Wheeler was really caring and really seems like he wants to figure my siezures out and get them under control.
