By far the worst customer service experience I have EVER had. The salesman that sold me the work went by the name of Tristen. He also claimed to be a project manager, unfortunately he nor any of his cohorts showed up to the job until we complained about the subcontracted crew trashing our yard with the old roofing material and other garbage like, soda bottles, cans, chicken bones and potato chip bags. When they would eat their lunch all of their waste went onto the yard. They smoked cigarette's on our property and discarded their cigarette butt onto our yard. One of the crew even defecated in our back yard so I'm sure they were urinating there too. Almost forgot to mention they were harassing my neighbors teenage daughter. The first day the crew came to the house they brought a dumpster and used it to capture some of the roofing material. The second day there was no dumpster so all of the old roofing material went onto the yard. There was maybe one tarp in the back yard to capture some of the debris but otherwise they just tossed it everywhere. They buried our brand new AC unit in 4 feet of rubble and put a hole in the pool storage bin. They also piled rubble 2-3 feet high against our garage door, damaging it. At the end of their work days they made no attempt to clean or even pick up their tools or ladders. Because of all of this I hired a third party to inspect their work and unfortunately was not surprised by the following assessment. Comments: The roof looked to be in great shape. The shingle lines looked straight, the ridge cap looked to be straight and there was no missing shingles. The only things that stuck out to me was more cosmetic things. A couple of the valley's were dented and scratched. The dents or kinks did not have any holes in them which is the usual concern. The scratches were not deep but still noticeable. There was a box vent that was dented which, again, is cosmetic but should not be dented when putting on a new roof. We would install new gutter apron when installing a roof. It looks like that they re used your old metal. There was also debris on the decking which from my point of view, means they did not sweep and or clean off the decking very well. The only concern with that is that over time the nails and or staples could puncture through the shingles and or cut the felt paper over time. Some of the shingles were scuffed which comes with either dropping material on the shingle and or walking on the roof when it is very warm outside. It is only cosmetic, but you should be careful when installed in the heat. Suggested Repairs: Replace a dented box vent - caulk down behind valleys (should have been done) Inspection Fee: $100.00 Inspection Completed By: 11/27/2017 They have yet to repair the garage door, storage bin, dented vent box, caulking behind valleys and the furnace exhaust vent they bent, oil stains on in driveway. .

The agreement was signed on 27 July 2017 and a promise was made to start in 3 days - no work done until I called the office and asked to be released from the contract (Sept 23, 2017). The installers are presently here, driving over my flower beds, dropping the bundles of shingles on my roof so hard they are knocking things off the wall, and generally making me livid with anger. I hope you have better luck than I have had...

I wrote to the owner with no response (I know he read it) so I thought I'd let others know of my experience since it didn't seem to matter to him: Hi Matthew- I wanted to message you as a professional courtesy and let you know about my experience with your company. Back in June, I had someone come out from Xcel to look at the roof. He walked me through some pictures and said he would come back with the insurance adjuster. I notified him when the adjuster was coming, and he met him there as well. I felt like things were going fairly well, but I never was given an initial estimate. Your rep blatantly stated in front of the adjuster they would "fix it" so my deductible was taken care of and asked him to directly send the quote from the insurance company to him. My immediate thought- this guy is trying to rip me off! I should be able to get a quote from any company without first establishing what my insurance company is going to give me. After he left, I text him and asked for a quote to be sent to me. Never saw it. a few days went by, so I called the office and asked for a quote, explained I hadn't received anything as of yet. I got a call back from your rep saying they would do the roof for $7500. No paperwork, no details. I explained I had received other bids and that seemed fairly high. Instantly the rep took $1000 off. I told him I had quotes for upgraded shingles that were still around $500 less than the $6500 he instantly dropped it to. Told him the shingles they quoted me and asked him to check into it (I was referred to you company and was an acquaintance of the rep that came to do the estimate and I'd prefer to support locally owned businesses that I've been referred to). I felt like I was dealing with a used car salesman at that point and thought I'd give him a last chance to make it right and move forward with comparing the shingles. I literally never heard back from him. A few weeks later, my boyfriend happened to either meet you or a partner of yours(?) and told him of our experience. He basically laughed it off and proceeded to tell my boyfriend how great the company was and they have nice new trucks etc. WOW! Neither he or I was impressed and more or less astonished there was no concern or customer service concerning the unprofessionalism we encountered. I thought I'd let you know as I have had several people in my neighborhood ask for a recommendation after my roof was completed and I was not able to recommend Xcel in any regard. I thought maybe you could field some constructive criticism and use it for the good of your company. Regards, Kambi

I noticed some minor damage to my roof following last month's storm in Bellevue. We're trying to sell our house and wanted it fixed as soon as possible. Xcel was able to come out that day to give an estimate, despite's the fact that they were pretty well booked doing other more significant repairs. Juan, The one who actually did the repair, worked with my schedule and came out a Sunday afternoon to complete the repair. I would definitely them.

Matt and the crew at Xcel went toe to toe with a difficult adjuster after my dad's roof was damaged in a storm. Because of Matt's effort my dad got his $50,000 roof and gutters replaced and paid for by the insurance company. 10 days later a big storm damaged my roof and Matt came to my rescue again. These guys are honest and they care. That's hard to find in a roofing company!
