Had a great experience eating lunch at Yalla. The staff was very friendly and gave good recommendations for the meal. We got an Olive plate which included pickles, capers, and cauliflower pickled as well, a falafel plate, falafel pita, and a chicken schwarma pita. The only slight critique I would give was the chicken schwarma pita was a bit heavy on the pickles inside, so keep that in mind if someone in your family doesn’t like them. The falafel’s were fried fresh in front of us. They were served in very nice containers. The only thing I gave a four star was the atmosphere. You have to pay to park 4.00 for one hour and then there was no seating available on a weekday at 12:30 so that was a bummer. Everything else was awesome. Keep on, Yalla!
It's okay. They're definitely a little overpriced. We ordered 2 shawarma bowls and it came up to over $30, and we didn't even get any drinks. As far as quality goes....it's okay, it's serviceable. One things for sure, is that the food does look really pretty aesthetically. Check out the picture below.
Good food but I wish the consistency was better. For example I’ve ordered the lamb bowl four times. One wasn’t great. Two times were amazing. And today it was meh. Hard to frequent when you never know if you will get meh or amazing.Food: 4/5
I always love their Laffa Shawarma but today the wrap was much smaller so I’m wondering if this is the new size. Half of the chicken from the normal sandwich not there. Disappointing , i mean it $17 bucks alreadyFood: 3/5
This place was AMAZING! I got “The Shouk” bowl and it was so good. The girl working there was so nice and friendly, and my food was done really quickly. The flavors all went together really well, and they were knowledgeable about gluten free options. Word to the wise: the harissa hot sauce is EXTREMELY SPICY! I’d recommend getting it on the side so you can customize the amount you want. $16, and enough food where I definitely got very full before finishing it. Cheers!
Always love coming here when I go to Krog street. Very authentic and better than most other shawarma places in the city.Food: 5/5
They said it was “Middle Eastern food” when it’s really Isreali. Not only do they steal Palestinians food but also an Arabic word. Like please stop stealing Arab culture.Food: 1/5
I really enjoyed the food here and really had a hard time deciding what I was going to eat. There were so many wonderful dishes on their menu and all reasonable priced. There was a few items on the menu that I was unsure of and wished that the staff would have been a little more helpful with making suggestions as they saw me stand and stare at their menu for 5 minutes Okay. So I exaggerated a little. But for real.... I did have to Google a few items. Anyhoo... the food was delicious. The eggplant was everything. I love how it was prepared and how it was integrated with the other ingredients to make a dish. I order the Sabich, which cost $8. I ordered it with the pita bread but I do wish I had ordered the laffa being that they give three options of how the dish can be served: Pita, laffa, and as a bowl. Unfortunately I was very indecisive and could not figure out what I wanted to eat and felt as if I was holding the line up so I decided to go with what I knew. Great tasting food. Definitely will be back.
The chicken shawarma was quite flavorful, spicy, and saucy hummus, babaghanoush, and both white and harissa sauces. A carbohydrate pita bread or rice would have complemented what was a quite protein-packed meal. Krog Street Market was a cozy and relatively intimate place to dine at.Food: 4/5
I’ve been coming to this restaurant over the years and typically get the Fatoush salad. So disappointed to see their Fatoush salad go from a nice size dish to the size of a small side salad for $10. I would rather if they charge more for it than having it become a joke of a meal.
