After visiting for my very first time I am really surprised about the high stars it receives. Pros the waitress was super nice and the prices are fair . Cons the building smells like burnt bacon really bad . The floors tables and chairs were filthy . The food below average “mama potatoes “ were undercooked and rubber with the smell of smoke . The biscuits were so dry and hard I did have to ask for a new one . After 15 min getting a new one it was fresh and hot the gravy was good but the biscuit is more of a muffin texture . I would not return.
Nice little breakfast and lunch diner with a bit of a southern influence. The biscuits are phenomenal. Best I've had? I'm not sure, but they are right up there. The gravy is excellent. I got the southern, which is a plate full. If you can eat it all in one sitting that would be impressive. Service and attitude is right up there with the food. Good stuff. Good folks.
Will definitely be back! The breakfast was delicious. We got the kitchen sink and the breakfast croissant. The serving size is big enough where we both have leftovers. Mercedes was our waitress and she was attentive and friendly.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: Yes
Went on a Friday morning with my wife to try their breakfast. It was a recommendation from a friend at her work. Glad we went. Food was great loved the sausage the most. Never have had sausage like that at a restaurant before great flavor. Service was outstanding and very pleasant. In my opinion it is very hard to get the service and food quality and quantity atvother places that we received there. Definitely going to go back and try other items off the menu
The seasoned potatoes was burnt and raw at the same time. And had no seasoning. The corn beef hash was undercooked the eggs were over cooked. However the staff was friendly and attentive. The orange juice was fresh and syrup was warm and the bacon was great.
I found Yo Mama's while flipping through Google Maps and instantly saved it as a place I wanted to go. My logic being: who wouldn't want to try a restaurant named "Yo Mama's?" The restaurant stayed in my want-to-go list for several months. We finally went in the fall of 2021. It then became clear that I had discovered a small little local gem. The restaurant was on the smaller side and appeared to be more of a breakfast diner. They had it dressed up in seasonal decor which I thought made it a comfortable environment. Our waitress, Victoria was pleasant and delightfully sassy and made our experience far more enjoyable. She told us what her recommendations were and what was popular. She was even honest enough to tell us what she didnt care for as well. Her patience with us as we took forever to get our order ready was positively notable as well. The menu here is southern comfort food. We started with soup. Cream of Carrot. Never even knew that soup existed, had to try it. It's a rich buttery soup that blew me away. Ate it so fast, I never took a picture of it. In retrospect, I should've bought some to go. 5 stars on the soup alone. I ordered the Meatloaf. Very sizable portion here. It was good and filling. They drizzle it with a white gravy southern style. Mashed potatoes here were freshly mashed and had the skin in them just like I prefer. It also came with some extremely delicious baked beans. Even though I only had a bite, the Salibury steak was great. Had the perfect seasoning and texture. The cheesy overload burger was not quite as cheesy as the menu made it seem but it was still okay. 2 grilled cheese sandwiches serving as the bun for a hamburger. It was really quiet when we went here, but I hope they do well because I would like to come back here whenever I'm back in the area. Highly recommend this little gem
Excellent food and sizeable portions. They were short staffed posted on the door and the ladies were on it. No waiting on food and still very attentive.Dine in: YesTakeout: Yes
The food was 4 stars but the service was 5 stars. Vanessa was our server. She was great, didn't miss a beat and took great care of us. The burger was generously sized and cooked well but didn't have a ton of flavor. The Mac n cheese cavatapi was pretty bland. The cole slaw was also bland. The French fries were awesome. Real potatoes. They seemed fresh. Because of the service, we'll be back to try something else on the future.
Best breakfast around. I hadthecrab omelet, light and fluffy. Me wife had the strawberry French toast and loved it. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Fast friendly service. Good coffee also. The biscuits and gravy were the best I had around here.
I need to start off by saying the food was pretty decent and the waitress was nice. I would order take out from there. I would not dine in again though. First thing that hit me was the smell of burnt bacon the smoke that filled the dining room and what smelled to be a badly maintained grease trap. This please used to be a Schoops location and they never had that issue After the initial smell it next it was the drinks. There was either no carbonation or no syrup. One table being us and the food took over 40 minutes. Okay from what I saw it was one cook he was inexperienced and forgot parts of our order so I forgave his struggle he was one guy who was being taught the hard way to “Sink or Swim” what I had a hard time with was when a tall man in an apron walked in went up and leaned on the counter while talking to the waitress Time to lean time to clean and when he went back in the kitchen the three tables who came in considerably after us were getting appetizers a lot quicker than we got our food. All the while my table waited and waited I saw who I believe was a cashier ? constantly eating fries. I know employees get hungry too but come on. From the maintaining of the environment smell and smoke to the maintaining of the soda machines, to the overall cleanliness of the dining room, to what my daughter described what she saw when she was coming back down the hallway from the bathroom when she turned her head to the left and looked in your kitchen… I have to ask… How are you able to have decent food at fair prices with lousy ownership overseeing and running the place?
