Joanie was great to work with. We knew as soon as we spoke to her that we wanted her to be our officiant. She helped us customize a ceremony that was personal, heartfelt and true to our values. She was very responsive to our emails and quick to make any adjustments we requested. She was also willing to perform the ceremony at our location very early in the morning so we could avoid crowds. The ceremony was everything we hoped for. Thank you Joanie for helping us make our day so special.

Joanie and Yehudah are an incredible team! They gave us both the freedom and guidance to create a ceremony that reflects our values and family traditions. On the actual wedding day, the ceremony was simply magical, I cannot imagine a more meaningful way to start our married lives together! In terms of organization and logistics - Joanie responded with quick and constructive feedback to all of our inquiries and on the actual wedding weekend they took care of all of the ceremony and marriage license details. It was great!

Joanie married us in the Portland Rose Garden and she was absolutely perfect in every way! She gave us insight and examples of how to incorporate everything we wanted into our vows. She then created a personalized ceremony that perfectly represented us. We could not have asked for a more perfect ceremony. It was more than we ever imagined it could be. Thank you Joanie! We love you!

Pros: Accommodating, Calm, Professional, Open-Minded, Sliding-Scale Fee In February 2012, I contacted Your Personal Ceremony after finding their website online. I was looking for a non-religious officiant for my wedding who was still spiritual and familiar with ritual. Response was prompt from Joanie and soon we set up an appointment to meet with her at her home. The sliding scale fee made it possible for us to afford having the kind of wedding ceremony we wanted. When creating our ceremony she had a wealth of ideas but remained open to anything we wanted to do. She quickly responded to any email of questions or requests to make changes. She kept us organized and on track with deadlines and reminders. On the day of the wedding she came fully prepared and was a calming center for me. I was completely terrified of getting in front of people and right before the ceremony she came and held my hands and did a mini-meditation exercise with me and gave me great advice which really pulled me together and helped me keep it together during the whole ceremony. Overall, my experience with Your Personal Ceremony was positive. My only regret is that I wasn't able to get to know Joanie more- likely due to my own aloofness. We received so many compliments on the ceremony! Everyone said it was one of the best and most unique weddings they had ever been to. I will definitely use Your Personal Ceremony again for any ceremonial needs that I have in the future.

Joanie officiated our wedding this year on August 1st. We had shopped around for a celebrant, not entirely sure of what we were looking for. My wife & I are not religious people, but we have deeply rooted spiritual beliefs that we wanted to incorporate into our wedding. We met Joanie & Yehudah at their home to make introductions & get to know one another. They used a comprehensive approach to getting to know both of us, in terms of our ethnic backgrounds, our personal histories, and what we were hoping to build on our wedding day. They then presented us with a great selection of materials from our different backgrounds, which we picked & chose from. With this guidance, we were able to craft something that we felt spoke to us. Many of our guests were moved by the connection they felt to our ceremony as well. Thank you, Joanie, for helping us get married! We appreciate your support, your communication between multiple drafts of the ceremony, and your easy-going approach while keeping us aware of a timeline. Joanie welcomed all of our input & made it clear that anything was possible with our ceremony. We couldn't have been happier. Alex & Megan
