After meeting with several contractors, we hired Zander Homes to remodel our basement. We worked directly with Alex, the owner of the company.  Alex was a pleasure to work with from start to finish!  He definitely takes great pride in his craft, and has a passion for remodeling and construction. Alex worked very closely with us to make sure our goals were met and that we were happy through every step of the process. We found him to be incredibly responsive and available, which we truly appreciated. Alex was especially great at getting a feel for our overall vision, and finding a way to make it happen. He was able to give us soaring basement ceilings by relocating our HVAC into bulkheads, and add a stunning wood plank inlay to make it all look seamless and beautiful. He had great supplier options for custom features, like our cast stone fireplace surround and iron stair railings. He also completely understood our vision for a marble bar with wood planked shelving, and effortlessly made it happen. We were excited to show our families at Thanksgiving, who were incredibly impressed with the massive transformation. Overall, we are thrilled with the outcome, and especially the quality of the craftsmanship, which feels very high-end and well-executed. We would recommend (and have recommended!) Zander Homes to anyone who is looking to remodel or build a home.

Alex was an amazing resource in our home build! We reached out to Zander Homes for a consultation in support of the home design, costing/estimation, and to learn more about the general build process. We met with Alex who was extremely clear and informative about the home build process. He walked us through the entire process and answered all of our questions. It was clear that Alex had strong understanding of the client's needs and spoke of strong local relationships with others in the trade. He has a deep knowledge base in material type, selection, and impact on client's budget. We left the meeting feeling confident in our next steps and would highly recommend working with Alex and his team.

My wife and I are new to the Maryland area.  We are originally from California but have spent the last 3 years in Germany.  Having purchased homes before, the experience with Alex and Ian was great.  

When we first saw the house, we fell in love with it right away.  The attention to detail and quality construction was evident from the start.   The experience in buying this home was very personal as they were very flexible allowing us to change things along the way.  We have established a personal relationship with them and feel very happy that we made the choice to select a Zander home.

We had a wonderful experience with Zander Homes! Alex from the beginning was with us each step of the way.  We saw many of his properties and he answered all our questions! we showed him where we were thinking of building and with his honest answers we felt secure in moving forward with the designs.  Meeting about budget and what we expected in the house was easy and he really worked with us to make our dream house possible!  

Once the building started Alex kept us informed with weekly  updates of what was happening that week and made sure we know when the cement was going to be poured because he know we wanted to put our hand prints in it! a small detail like that may seem small but his attention to detail enabled us to have everything we wanted (even our hand prints in the foundation of our house).  

Walking through and seeing things in person enables you to see what spaces are going to be and see any changes to be made.  It was so wonderful with Alex.  "Sure, no problem" for everything from making my daughters closet bigger, creating a book nook in my other daughters room to moving the pantry door down to fit a cabinet for my cake baking supplies.  Whether it was difficult or not we never knew and Alex just handled it for us to truly create our custom home for us! 

Alex was with us for picking the interior tile, counter tops and floors. His vendors were wonderful to work with! No matter how many times I went (and it was a lot) they were happy to help me look again and again with paint swatches or anything I needed.  

Creating a custom home is a lot of work and details!! You pick each and every single thing from floors to counter tops to designing closet and picking grout colors and Zander Homes is with you every part of the way. 
 
I designed a special project space for our kids playroom and Alex said "absolutely" when I asked if he could build it for me! This was something that was over and beyond and really shows how wonderful Zander Homes is to work with! 
They did everything to create a beautiful custom house for us but all the attention to detail and how they really put us and our specific wishes for our family first helped make our house our Home!

From our first meeting with Zander Homes we knew we were making the right decision in picking a builder for our dream home.  Alex and his team have been so easy and pleasant through the entire process.  We never had a doubt that we were getting exceptional service, value and quality.  Any changes or ideas we've had have been met with, "We can do that" replies.  It was AMAZING to hear those words each time we would ask about potential changes!  And like any custom home build we made a few along the way.  Still, each one was met with, "We can do that!"

I could go on and on about the endless things in our home we love!  Zander Homes offered so many details that were not even mentioned with other builders, let alone offered in a spec-home.  The trim/molding, SO AMAZING, Savant (if you don't know, look it up) and selections (if your doing a custom build, it can be done)!!!  

We are so excited to make this our HOME and pray we never need to move!!!  Thank you Alex and Team for making our dreams come true!
