ZIPS started out as eight separate dry cleaners in the Baltimore-Washington D.C. area. In 2002, the stores united with the goal of providing a revolutionary dry cleaning experience that maintains high-quality services at one low price, for any garment.
Since then, we’ve expanded to over 50 locations across the country and have cleaned over 20 million garments for more than 500,000 customers. Our “In by 9, Out by 5” pledge promises same-day service without wavering on quality service. In fact, our quality is the same as that of full-price dry cleaners, but at a cost of less than 50% of the national average. Just picked up my clothes. Sad to say, I’m not happy. My sweaters are stretched so much. My crew necks are now boat neck. One sweater is now a dress! One of blouse was not cleaned, still wrinkled and has an odor. Another, it has a brown stain. All the sweaters were hung, not folded. Real dry cleaners know to fold the sweaters to prevent stretching.

The positives are the speed and price. However, the quality suffers. It is common for items to come back stained, so be sure to check your items before you leave the store. To their defense, they do remove the stains, but the problem is they don't check their work!! Also, half the time I ask NOT to have shirts starched, they come back starched. It got to a point that when they asked, I just stated that it didn't matter since my preference was not relayed to the person performing the work. Pants are returned with holes in the zipper area where they insert the tags. This is fine once or twice, but if you bring the same pair of pants in too many times, you will have damage to your pants. Furthermore, they will often (accidentally) staple the tag to your shirt. The staple should only run through the tag, not the fabric.

In short, this is a store that does a lot of volume. As such, there is very little attention given to quality work, and product is often damaged. If you're in a rush and have inexpensive clothes to get cleaned, you're good. Otherwise, pay a dollar extra and go to a smaller operation that cares about their work.

Total disappointment  island  second time  my clothes  come back  just  as dirty and badly ironed. I do not recommended  this establishment  in Germantown

Our clothes obviously had a sleep-over at the store, but only 1/4 of the items was acrually pressed. This was our first and last Zips experience. I have pictures to show, but it doesn't appear that I can upload them. This is crappy, because now the pants and jacket have to be ironed at home.
