We took a quick stroll through the zoo. It was charming and interesting. My kids loved it, from noticing the big hooves on the reindeer to watching the sleepy great horned owl. A zoo worker brought out the iguana so my daughters could see it. This was great!

Didn't take pictures because was basically a waste of time and definitely money.. Dealing with there promotion of Christmas... Meaning because there was no attraction at the park to take pictures of. Other that the coyotes where pretty fun to watch playing around.. Driving down main street blows the park out of the water! Along with down just about any neighborhood in the area. Was post that Rain deer along with Santa would be Monday, Friday and Saturday.... They where not there Friday the 8th and not even a trace of it! The 4 year old was okay, but maybe it was to cold for Santa.. haha Anyway, it was a waste of time and a solid bit of a disappointment.....

For a small town zoo, this place is fantastic! Mostly volunteer based, the staff is very helpful and friendly. You can tell the love of the animals and educating people is what drives them. The various programs they offer are educational and fun for kids. I love that they rescue animals and try to rehabilitate them until they can either release them, or provide refuge if their injuries are too severe. Our favorites are the albino porcupine, foxes and the lynx.

Quaint and cute. Would highly recommend setting and hour or two aside to go visit.

Did you know you can schedule a parrot feeding here? $1.00 per person in addition to your zoo admission. Pelican feedings are also available although I haven't done it and don't know the cost. There is a petting zoo too! Call ahead for that schedule.
