I was a regular customer with PODS but thought I would give Packrat a shot. They quoted me less, promised more, etc. I had called to reserve the container a month in advance and scheduled delivery 4 weeks before my move to ensure availability and the time to load it at my leisure, not having to do it in a day or weekend. (One of the reasons I use the containers vs moving trucks.) I was very specific that I needed the largest container available and kept mentioning the size of the POD 8x8x16 and was assured multiple times that it was the same size, and also that there was even more space available because they had barn doors vs the roll up doors on PODS. He went on about the construction and material being superior etc. The rep also assured me they had excellent customer service and that if I had any problems whatsoever, they would do whatever necessary to make it right, ensuring me 100% customer satisfaction. He literally begged me to give their product a try assuring me they were comparable and superior to PODS in every way. Although I already had a quote and reservation with PODS, I decided to give this kid a shot (he was so emphatic and convincing.) The first thing I didn't like was they immediately charged my card $500 non refundable deposit when my container wasn't due for weeks. PODS doesn't charge a thing until you get your container. I arranged delivery on a Friday so I could load over the weekend. I had multiple 6 1/2 ft storage racks loaded with equipment, that I had moved numerous times and the racks could not fit into the doors of the container. I couldn't believe it! I immediately called Packrat (on a Saturday) to inform them of my dilemma after they explicitly told me it was the same dimensions as a POD. I told them this container wasn't going to work for me and I needed it removed from my driveway, so I could get a POD.I was told that they could not resolve my issue and I would have to wait until Monday and call back. Who doesn't offer customer service on weekends? When I called on Monday I was told someone from their resolution center would call me back. The man who returned my called was rude and unaccommodating. He said they could pick up their container Friday. I insisted I needed it picked up sooner as I now had to arrange for another delivery. He replied with a "that's the best I can do" attitude. I asked for my $500 deposit to be refunded since the size of the container was misrepresented to me. He said he listened to the recorded call and that at no time did they ever state the dimensions of the container. He said that " I" quoted the length, width, and height of a POD and was told it was "comparable." WOW! He then said that the emailed agreement they sent me contained the dimensions of the container and I agreed to it. I referred to the email and the dimensions were described in cubic ft. There was no mention anywhere as to the length, width, or height of the container. It only listed the cubic storage space. He told me they were going to keep half of my deposit for their trouble and expense, referring to delivery and pick up. What about my trouble and expense??? I just spent $250 to lose 2 weekends of my moving time and now had to scramble to get another container before the end of the month, and that only left me 2 weekends for packing. This guy couldn't care less about customer satisfaction. I reminded him that it was expressly represented that they would do whatever it takes to make sure I was satisfied. He again responded with that "it's the best I can do attitude." I informed him of my intention to report this online and give him a negative review and he told me I was defaming them. Nice try at intimidating me. I would also like to add that when I contacted PODS, they honored the quote they had offered me weeks before (even though it had expired and the current quote was more) EXPEDITED my delivery even though they had no deliveries available, because of the situation Packrat left me in. I would never use or recommend Packrat, but I HIGHLY recommend PODS! They care about their customers!

Our experience with 1-800-PACK-RAT was exceptional. We moved from FL to NV and everything went very smoothly. Everyone we dealt with was very professional, friendly and accommodating. They picked-up and delivered on time as promised. We were very pleased with their service and would highly recommend using them. You won't be disappointed!

Great experience for our recent long distance move. Container was delivered and pickup as scheduled. Customer service was top notch. If you're looking for an economical solution for a short or long distance move 1800packrat is it. Would definitely recommend and use again if we move in the future.
