Very large store with lots of variety. They do sell food here. You can get canned items or fresh fruits, vegetables and refrigerated food. I do most of my holiday shopping here. The quality of the items are getting better every year.

days before Christmas:  I found a parking spot right away. I found exactly what I was looking for, in exactly the place I expected to see it. They had some good Christmas stuff left over. Only one person ahead of me in line at the cashier. Everything cost $0.99. Merry Christmas and Feliz Navidad to me (and you of course)!

I like the 99 cent store here is cleaner then the highland park one is trashy. Though i would love if a item going to near expiration date it would be discounted i think the owner still have a profit and the item don't go to waste it's a win win on both side.Update I didn't like the Mexican cashier she is rude she in her late 20s short 4 feet 11 inches with black hair. I was first in line !!when she let the person behind me go first!!!! I was first in line she is a B!t

I really like this store. It is close to my house and I can find most of what I need. I shop here regularly. However there is one employee who seems to think the store is her living room. She eats when checking out the groceries which I find pretty revolting. I stopped going to her lane. Now she has this habit  of butting in line if she sees me checking out with someone else  to do some rediculous whatever with the cashier that I am with. Tonight has made me never want to go back. Not only was she off duty, she butted in line right when it was my turn to check out with her dirty fingers to buy herself a drink. Then just to be psycho she stopped the whole line mind you this is Sunday night with a long line behind me, to have a social conversation with the guy checking out my groceries. I did my best to not lose my cool when the two of them walked away from the register so that he could pick out his drink while she was waving her dirty fingers with change in front of him. She even went so far as to say hello to me. I was completely disgusted. Finally I had to ask the guy to keep the check out process moving because she would not stop talking to him. “Oh I know those people”. “ I forgot about my night time crowd ”. She began to ask him about his work process and how he liked his friggin job. I was so annoyed by this dirty grown woman who is their employee not only getting in the way of him working but harassing me I nearly just walked out with all of my groceries sitting there. It’s too bad this woman is so mentally incapable of picking up social cues to “go away” because she was in the way and she and she alone is the reason that I won’t spend my money let alone step foot in that store again. #psychoemployee

I've gone to this store for so many years. I can always find good stuff for great prices and the staff is pretty good too.
