Story

A Better Way Wholesale Autos opened its doors in 1999, operating in a small facility down the road from our current showroom in Naugatuck, CT. From day one, our goal has been to offer shoppers the greatest possible value in a pre-owned vehicle. We have enjoyed many years of new and repeat customers, referrals, and overall growth - all while developing long-standing relationships with a lengthy list of banks and lending institutions, warranty companies, and parts suppliers.

In 2008 we finished construction of our new showroom located at 423 Rubber Avenue. Since then we have scaled our operation to offer vehicles at true wholesale prices to a much larger customer base. We have grown to become CT's highest volume auto dealer, but we have kept our goal the same: to offer the greatest value available on the used vehicle market.

We offer a variety of financing and extended warranty options for all credit tiers and budgets. Our extensive experience and high sales volume will benefit you, as we can provide desirable financing options that most used car dealers can't!

We are a certified NAPA AutoCare Center, with ASE Certified Technicians, servicing all makes and models - foreign and domestic. Each of our vehicles undergoes a rigorous pre-delivery safety inspection to ensure it will be worry-free from the moment you pick it up. We also provide all levels of mechanical repair service on-site - from oil changes to drivetrain and electrical issues, our experienced technicians will help get your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible.

Never been so easy to buy a car. I drove from Suffolk County - NY to Connecticut to find my new one. I had my heart set on a specific car and found it here at an unbeatable price for the year and mileage. Fabio is an exceptional salesperson, a pleasure to work with. He kept me informed of all service updates being done with the car in a timely manner. They are a very large operation so if you choose a car that needs sprucing up and your heart is set on it, trust me, good things come to those who wait. I love my car. It drives like new. Sharon in Finance was very pleasant as well and explained everything I needed to know and really made me feel at ease that I made the right choice.all around. Great dealership! Accommodating staff was able to stay later for my fiancé and I who were traveling for over an hour when we got caught in serious traffic. Scott was incredibly friendly and informative when helping us with our financing options. We are in love with our purchase and the honestly from the dealership was extremely helpful when making the final decision. Would recommend to a friend!
Where should I start. Sense the beginning of my experience with this car dealership, Scott and Anna has treated my family with the most respect ever! Not only did they help me find the car I need, but they also stayed in the price range I gave them! They kept me in the loop every step of the way of the progress. They also made sure my car had a good pricing on the warranty! I can’t wait to tell my friends and family to come to them! Thanks guys!
Car has had several problems in the first 3 weeks. Had to get car fixed twice. Check engine light is now on. Made an apt for a week later to receive parts. Arrived at 9:15 am. Now its noon and they say they cant fix my car today. Being given the run around by service. No service manager to talk to. They wont even give me another apt. Going to the Better Business Bureau.
My experience was a refreshing alternative to a typical dealership. Better Way is a wholesale dealer, so they sell to dealers or others in bulk more than the general public like a traditional dealer does. That being said, you can expect less fancy bells and whistles, but can save money in the right areas since you're not paying for the unessesary overhead. I worked with Johnny and even with the recent inflation, the car prices were lower by thousands compared to area dealerships. I was comfortable and didn't feel at any time like I was getting an unfair deal. Johnny even drove me across town to help me drop off my rental. The experience was above and beyond and I'm so glad I didn't let negative reviews stop me from giving A Better Way Wholesale a try.
A little disappointed when we first arrived because most of the vehicles we looked at on line were not available. But we were finally able to find something in our price range. We walked away as happy customers. Thanks to Anna, our salesperson and to Paul, who ran back and forth to the lot to get the cars we wanted to look at. So if you go to ABW, be sure to call to check if the cars you are interested in are still in inventory.
If you do your research, and find your particular car here, by all means take a look. Keep in mind these are used cars and these people specialize in selling them. Johnny took great care of me, and we test drove twice to pinpoint a minor issue that was addressed as soon as we returned to the office/ shop area. Then the car was surrendered to the cleaning crew to spiff it up in record time. Scott, who took care of registration and warranties was deft and precise, mixing that with wry wit and humour. These people are great, keep a positive attitude, and they will bend over backwards to satisfy! I love my beautiful car!
I had an awesome experience with Johnny this past weekend buying my car. I had an issue with the DMV with my license and Monday morning he took care of it and send one their team workers to pick me up at my house to bring me to the dealership to finalize my paperwork and leave with my new car!
A Better Way had a specific vehicle I had sought after for a long time listed online. I did my homework and research on both the vehicle and the dealer. I read the online reviews, many of which were positive, but also the negative ones cautioning buyers of various reasons. For all intents and purposes, I was prepared, and knew what to look out for. I’m quite familiar with the vehicle purchasing process, from a variety of types of dealers, including wholesale dealers, which can be quite different from a usual dealer. I had previously selected the vehicle, and prepared myself to provide outside financing to purchase. I had read and understood ABW’s purchase process, clearly shown on their website, so all I needed was a dealer that wanted to introduce me to my truck and help sign some documents. I could have called the dealer, and been picked up by the next person to answer, but instead I used the website information inquiry tool to contact the next available dealer. This simply requires the dealer to send an introductory message telling you to get back in touch, but for me, this identifies the dealer that’s proactive about making a sale... a hustler, if you will, instead of someone waiting for the phone to ring. Anna introduced herself via email, and encouraged me to call at my convenience to see if she could help. I returned her call within the hour with a few simple questions, clarification of the purchase process, and a request for a few necessary documents. She was prepared to answer my questions about the vehicle, was extremely knowledgeable and upfront about the process, and provided me with my documents within minutes of our conversation. I provided the information necessary for the $1,000 non refundable deposit on the vehicle in order to ensure it’s availability, and understood that it would be returned to me only after the purchase was complete, or taken off of the purchase price. I scheduled an appointment to inspect the vehicle later that week, as I previously understood that wholesale dealers do not always keep inventory on site, or sometimes make necessary repairs while the vehicle is listed for sale. This was the case with my vehicle. Anna informed me of all notable vehicle deficiencies, and identified a few minor items being repaired or replaced. I traveled from Boston to meet with Anna and inspect the vehicle. When I arrived the vehicle was out front, and I found Anna busy as her desk with another client. She quickly and politely introduced herself, handed me the keys, and allowed me to begin my inspection. Anna greeted me outside with the vehicle maintenance history information and answered a few questions about the vehicle, but also admitted her unfamiliarity with the vehicle. This was firstly due to my vehicle’s rarity, but also because of the sheer volume they deal in, which makes vehicle specific familiarity difficult. I appreciated the honesty, and had done my homework regarding the vehicle in expectation of this. I was satisfied with the condition of the vehicle, including the proposed repairs, and arranged for the purchase on Saturday. I chose to forego any price negotiations, as the vehicle was already listed at a fair price, noting that wholesalers typically make their money from volume not individual sales, allowing them to list vehicles for just about as low as you’ll find them. A quick visit to her desk for a few signatures was all that was necessary for her to draft the purchase order and receive approval from the sales manager. When I returned on Saturday as scheduled, my vehicle was repaired as promised and ready for pickup. Anna swiftly introduced me to Trooper in the financial department, who got me on the road in less than an hour after passing a few papers. A quick handshake and a good photo with Anna handing me the keys to my newly achieved goal, and I was gone. This review thingy has a character limit, so while I could go on about how awesomely Anna exceeded my expectations, you’ll have to go find out yourself. Extremely pleased. Highly recommended.
