Bagel was well put together, and the staff were really friendly in taking the time to explain to me how to choose my bagel and accompanying ingredients. I got the multi grain bagel with jalapeño cream cheese and ham - hit the spot! Will definitely come back again!Food: 5/5
Yummy and delicious bagels You’ll never miss weather you go for the plain or the any of the toppings. My only challenge is there’s so many cream cheese options makes it almost impossible to decide. Would have been nice if they had like a taster to try out different flavors of their cream cheese, that said it’s hard to go wrong with any of the flavors.
Had a tasty bagel here on the recommendation of a friend. Salt BEC for those in the know. Have to say the bagel itself was awesome and was worth the queue. But I’ve learned I’m not a fan of streaky bacon or American cheese. I still recommend you check this place out! It’s cash only.
Finally made it up to absolute bagels.. very much NO frills situation .. the queue went super quickly! But I actually did not enjoy the experience of the shop or the look/feel of it inside! Super super run down.. there’s authentic feel and then theres falling apart! With a queue down the block most days you can afford to make the shop look a bit more presentable! Anyway the bagels were great.. went for the classic everything with scallion cream cheese and a salmon and cream cheese! Bagel super chewy yet crunchy.. would have preferred more garlic/onion on the everything bagel also super cheap compared to other famous bagel shops!
The bagel itself was good; it’s crunchy outside, and it’s so soft inside, but I think this place is a little overhyped. I feel like I can get the same or similar qualities to the bagel that I bought in other bagel shops. I was waiting around 30 minutes in line, and I feel it's not worth the wait that long, but at least now I know how it tastes. If you’ve never been here before my suggestion is to come here on the weekdays and not the weekends because the weekends tend to be crowded. I got the Nova smoked salmon with garlic and chive cream cheese, with lettuce tomato, and onion. We also bought 4 everything bagels to go. It costs me a lot for the Nova smoked salmon. No tables to eat inside, you can only buy there and eat it outside. CASH ONLY. The servers were really nice and friendly.
Here's the real deal: No bagel justifies queuing outside for 30min. The place has seen better days. They stopped winning awards and renovating between 2000 and 2017. Bagels are good, prices are fair - but they're just bagels. They removed all tables, has the charm of a highway. Of course they don't take cards. Stopwatch on a normal Saturday: arrived at 11am, queued outside until 11:30, queued inside until 11:40, received food 11:43. Vegetarian options: Easy to pick veggie options. Parking: NYC doesn't park. Kid-friendliness: No kid or parents would survive 30-40 minute queues. No sit-down. Go somewhere else. Wheelchair accessibility: One of the few places that might be more pleasant in a wheelchair. At least you can sit while you wait to spend your money. There's a ramp, no stairs.
One of the many bagels I got try in New York and will easily put it my top 5, has all the great bagel characteristics of a crusty exterior and chewy inside, no need to toast. Really enjoyed the garlic chive cream cheese as well.Food: 5/5
The bagels were perfectly seasoned and baked. Probably the best bagel in New York city! Crispy on the outside, but soft and fluffy inside. All creamcheese flavors were delicious especially the savory ones. I personally like the “chives” and “herbs” creamcheese. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.Recommended dishesScallion Cream Cheese, Everything Bagels, Everything Bagel with Scallion Cream Cheese, Garlic Cream Cheese, Smoked Salmon
I ordered a sesame bagel with chives and garlic, an everything bagel with tuna salad, and an egg bagel with blueberry cream. They are so good with crispy crust and flavory sauce. If you are international visitors, remember ‘Everything bagel’ is a name of the bagel instead of a bagel with meat and lettuce.Food: 5/5
I ate Mozzarella cheese and tomato on everything bagel and vegan cream cheese with sun dried tomatoes also with everything bagel. It is a pretty good bagel, but I didn’t understand what’s the hype. I wouldn’t stay in line for this again, but if you are in the area and the line is short it is worth the visit
