I had the absolute worst experience here. Brought my dog in for a spray. 5 days later she was throwing up had a high fever and was out of it. Took her back because I suspected sepsis. They assured me there was no way she could have gotten sepsis from them, had she had to have eaten something outside. Gave her a barium test to see if she had a blockage, called the next morning to say she did have a blockage and surgery was necessary to save her life. Which of course, I consented to. Opened her up from chest to rear only to find no blockage. But remember there’s no way it was sepsis. Caused by their spay. So now racking our bill up through the roof because of unnecessary surgeries. We are distraught. Our kids are distraught. At this point we felt the least they could do was accept partial responsibility for the needless surgeries and possible sepsis. And we told them we felt they should take half of what they were charging is off the bill. Yes, we were willing to pay half for something that we had no control over. Their answer was no, and once our dog was well enough to come home they held her hostage until we signed a payment agreement. They seriously would not give us our dog until we agreed to pay the full amount. In the end I understand vets are human too. People make mistakes but the fact that they refused to accept responsibility for a misdiagnosis and forced us to pay under duress makes it clear, this place is 100% about money.

My experience with Dr. Benson was so amazing. He is so thorough and took his time to address each and every one of my concerns. He genuinely cares and it shows! Thank you 😊

After eight years of taking both my dogs there I will never step foot in that facility again not only that I found a complaint with the BBB I took my Yorky and there on Friday, February 2 Dr. Simpson took x-rays and clearly told me that he had white matter indicative of cancerous polyps; I ask her what the next steps were she handwe me a brochure referred me to a veterinarian in Towson to have a biopsy; at that time she quoted saying even if the biopsy comes back benig he still needs to have the polyps removed because they're blocking his airway, I ask her if she had any idea how much it would cost she said a couple thousand dollars At that time I ask her if it was something that they could do there in the office she said to me I would personally take my dog to Towson if it was my dog ; Dr. Benson might be able to do it but I'm not sure what he can do. When I checked out I left a message at the front desk for Dr. Benson to call me Monday, February 5 I called the office and spoke to Jean I believe the office manager and I expressed to her my concern about Dr. Simpson and the comments she made about the capability of Dr. Benson and what he was or wasn't capable of doing Meanwhile Dr. Benson had left me a message on the weekend stating that he could do the surgery that week any day except for Wednesday and that if they were small enough he would remove them when he was doing the biopsy but he wouldn't be able to tell until he got down in his throat It was scheduled for Friday, February 9 on that day from 4 o'clock till 7 o'clock I called three times only to be told my dog was in recovery and they didn't have a report from Dr. Benson yet and he was unable to come to the phone Finally about 720 I got a call from Bridget who informed me that my Yorky was ready for pick up and that there was no polyps found; At that point I said then what in the hell was Dr. Simpson seeing all that x-ray Bridget apologized saying she was sorry and she wasn't sure I said why hope you guys don't plan on charging me and she said unfortunately yes you will have to pay I went up there demanded my dog got All the notes from the prior visit me while Dr. Benson refused to come out and talk to me apparently still in different surgeries but yet had time to relate to his staff what to tell me; Bridget came out and was trying to tell me that the surgery would have had to be done anyway to try to do the biopsy there's nothing to do a biopsy on it there's no polyps; then she tried to tell me that that's not with Dr. Simpson sad I told her she needed to talk to Jean the office manager because I even called Monday too late what Dr. Simpson said and complain about her comments about Dr. Benson and his capabilities Then she tried to tell me that that's not with Dr. Simpson sad I told her she needed to talk to Jean the office manager because I even called Monday too late what Dr. Simpson said and complain about her comments about Dr. Benson and his capabilities. Then they handed me theoffice notes and clearly on the office notes it states surgery to remove polyps and do a biopsy... Then proceeded to tell me they were getting my bill together

I've been taking my dog to them since he was a puppy, 11 years now and his medical records shows it . Over the past year our dog was diagnosed with diabetes and give medication to help his numbers, but we've noticed that our by weekly curve visits were not being monitored by the different vets and we keep being told different amounts of medications and when we ask for a copy of records " all of a sudden " they seem not to be available yet ! We continue to get different information about his medication and curve results. We've ask for the ownership to contact us and the vets say they " just work there " and no one seems to be able to make a decision about incorrect billing after 5pm , because "the office manager can't be reached for any reason " needless to say " still awaiting that call. You would think that after 11 years of bringing our pet for vaccinations, boosters shoots, X-rays , minor surgical procedures, prescribed medications, dog food , boarding and not to mention the grooming charges, that we would honestly be given correct information and kept as a valued customer , but I guess being treated as just a number is the new way of doing business. We are truly disappointed with the lack of communication and lackluster professionalism with this business. We will no longer refer anyone to that business and will take our pet elsewhere!

I have trusted Dr. Benson with the many dogs and cats I have adopted/fostered for the past 12 years. He is a true diagnostician! His knowledge is unparalleled. Rather than starting with running a bunch of tests, he asks questions about symptoms and uses his knowledge to diagnose and then test to confirm if necessary. His vast knowledge has saved me thousands of dollars over the years. Many commenters complain of his personality...he's not going to make a ton of small talk with you, but he WILL answer every single question thoroughly and even pull out pictures or models to explain your pet's anatomy. He doesn't simply treat a medical malady, he completely explains the situation to you, so that you fully understand the process and treatment. My youngest dog is now having her second knee surgery with Dr. Benson (two separate ACL tears) and I don't have a worry in the world, bc she recovered so wonderfully from her first surgery with him: clean incision, they included laser therapy to aid in the healing process, low pain during recovery, and an absolutely flawless recovery to her knee....not to mention the surgery cost over $1000 less than every other vet in the area!!! Dr. Benson truly cares about the animals he sees in his practice. I brought my dog in today to have her torn knee looked at, and even though our surgery was scheduled for tomorrow morning, he was able to squeeze her in today, so that she wouldn't risk re-injuring her other knee. I can't say enough good things about the man! My pets are my children and I fully trust them in his care. He consistently shows me loyalty, and I know there won't be any "surprises" on my bills with him.
