Used to work here. Was horrible then and they are horrible now. As an employer, the most they want to see black men achieve is mediocre low paying jobs. Very low number of black males in non medical skilled positions (But that is Advocate Health as a whole; they are very discriminatory in hiring and promotion practices, particularly towards black men). Applied for several jobs I was qualified for, and was turned down repeatedly. I though I could get in and move up, but they don't want that. They want you sweeping, or mopping or a security guard, maybe a switchboard operator. But that's about it. My manager was a silent racist who would make the schedules favorable for her white staff, and put the black people on the worst shifts and days. She scheduled me for every holiday in November and December of 2016, and laughed like it was funny. I wonder if it was still funny to her when I quit on Christmas... And as a care provider, they are worse. I have been here with my wife for 4 hours, and no doctor has seen her yet. They put her in a room, gave her some children's aspirin (that they'll overcharge for by more than 200%), and no doctor has shown his face. My wife is in pain, asked for something for it, the nurse said she would check with the doctor. That's been over an hour. Maybe with this change in medical insurance laws, they won't be able to survive, and a good health care provider will take over this site. I sit here and hear the staff laughing and joking, but my wife still has not been given anything for her pain, and no doctor has walked in. Just a nurse... once.

This was an awful experience!! Mothers daycare sent her here (without my approval as this is not her regular doctor). Doctor ordered and quickly completed unauthorized test for a woman that has severe dementia to the extreme where she does not even know her full name. Neither the Doctor or no one on staff called the caregiver who has POA to notify them of test including a CT scan. How is this proper protocol? To run test on someone who cannot speak! Mom is 93 and I am sure someone saw an opportunity to collect from her insurance. This is not ethical and someone should be held responsible. They do not deserve even 1 star!!

My mom is a patient right now. My daughters and I went to the cafeteria for some snacks. The staff (3women) was so consumed with talking in their small group that they ignored us standing at the register for check out. A male employee was on break at one of the tables and attempted to get their attention...it didn't work. We put our items back and informed the young man that we were leaving due to poor service. A few minutes later, while we were standing at the vending machine, this same man could be heard talking to one of the chatting women and explaining that we had walked away without veing able to make a purchase. She just said "Oh well" and sat down to speak with him. I am very big on customer service...it makes or breaks a company. It's such a shame that none of the employees never bothered to apologize for their poor decision to discuss ants in their home than to do their job!!!

I've never been in a hospital that moved slower! Since my mom has been admitted in this hospital I've been timing the response times. She's told 3 ppl that she needed the bed pan and all of them cut the light off and said they'd get someone. We are now over 30 minutes later. This isn't the first time that they've just cleared the light and disappeared

If I could give less than one star I would. My aunt is currently in the ER here, even though they told her last night they are admitting her and would get her some food. She is on CHEMO AND DIABETIC yet they don't seem to think it's important for her to have a meal. She doesn't even have a call button where she is in the ER, so when my mother left her last night expecting her to get a room and some food she had no way to tell anyone she was hungry and thirsty. My mom woke up to a million messages and had to go back up to the hospital to try to get it sorted (since they still never got her a room) yet was met with nothing but rudeness and being told that if they wanted food or drinks they'd have to go buy them. I had to take my newborn son to Advocate Christ just a few days ago and he was admitted and our experience was about the same. Advocate has really gone downhill and their facilities are filthy and unfriendly, I will never go back to one again. Not to mention that Advocate Christ gave my father MRSA when he went in for a simple shoulder surgery and nearly killed him. I had an amazing experience with University of Chicago hospital and, even though it's a long drive, I will be going there if I ever need anything again. I'm done with Advocate and wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy!
