I had a deep cleaning here and consultation with Dr. Ahn and her staff. I was impressed by their excellent care, and high attention to comfort and detail. I’m not trying to get a deep cleaning everyday but if I had to I would come here, it has been the best experience by far. Dr. Ahn also spent time discussing other options for my teeth including routine health, and had a wealth of information and time regarding questions about veneers and other cosmetic dental concerns. Her energy is high but she is down to earth, pleasant, and seems sincere, she’s awesome.

TLDR: I was harassed by this dentists office for an honest Yelp review. Dr. Ahn and her husband Jerry (office coordinator) engage in unethical business practices, such as bait and switch billing, harassment of customers and fraud. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere in the South Bay for quality dental care.

For those of you interested in the gruesome details of this story... I was told on my three visits to Ahn Dental that they were in the process of renegotiating their contract with Delta Dental but that this renegotiation would not impact my billing. In accordance with this promise, my estimates were printed as if I was in network. Imagine my surprise when they did not follow through with this promise and my final bill was $400 more than this estimate. My frustration by the office's unwillingness to resolve this issue is captured in my original Yelp review. 

Two months after leaving that review, I received a mysterious bill for over $900. Upon pushing for more information, I was told by Dr. Ahn herself that the dental office got audited by Delta Dental as a result of my Yelp review (yes you read that right) and this was the corrective action forced on them by Delta Dental. I thought this sounded ridiculously fishy and called Delta Dental immediately. They informed me there was no audit and even if there was, this is not how audits happen. They encouraged me NOT to pay the dentist. The next day I visited the office to collect paperwork (including a non arbitration agreement the Jerry told me over the phone they had on file - this agreement does not exist). Upon arrival, Jerry pulled me into a room (forcing my partner to stay in the waiting room) and proceeded to berate me for the Yelp review left two months ago. 

Here is a summary of what I learned during this extremely uncomfortable confrontation:
*there was no Delta Dental audit. I was receiving a bill for the out of network "credits" Ahn Dental made because of my Yelp review. Note that these credits were line items included in patient ledgers I had paid off months ago. I have copies of these bills but they are "no longer valid". I question the legality of this...
*I was described multiple times as "ungrateful" for the credits Ahn Dental voluntarily offered me (I did not ask for them).
*I was told that only Jerry holds the power with regards to my billing. He could make it disappear if I deleted my Yelp review.
*if I did not delete my Yelp review, he would send my bill to collections. Jerry made a point to state that this would leave a mark on my credit statement and would greatly hinder my ability to secure a home loan in the future. I find this kind of threat from a dentists office extremely unsettling. 
*Jerry refused to put any of this in writing or communicate in writing - which I guess is understandable considering the questionable legality of his business practices.

I am still in shock that this happened to me and amazed by the new lies this office tries to feed my friends and coworkers. I cannot believe how unprofessionally my situation was handled and would highly suggest looking elsewhere in the South Bay for a stress free dental visit.

Thoroughly impressed! A coworker has been raving about her dentist, so I asked where so goes.  I had a cleaning and had many questions for Dr. Ahn - She's super knowledgeable and perky.  I enjoyed her enthusiasm!

Wrote this about Dr Ahn but applies to the rest of the practice at Ochi!

Cannot say enough to show my appreciation for Dr. Michelle Ahn and her team. Had a dental emergency while visiting LA and got a quick referral to Ochi Dental Assoc. They were very accommodating of my last minute need for care and happened to be assigned to Dr. Ahn. She was able to repair my tooth quickly and sent me along to enjoy the rest of what would have been a painful remainder of my vacation! Further, Dr. Ahn gave me some great advice on general care which she and her team followed-up on even though I am out-of-state! Very happy with the full service 360 degree care that I received and would highly recommend going to her for all dental needs.
